Strategy’s Bitcoin Buys Surge as Others Hold Back – Market Polarization

Bitcoin Holdings: A Growing Divide Among Corporations

Corporate strategies regarding Bitcoin (BTC) holdings are becoming increasingly polarized. Strategy, a prominent Bitcoin-centric financial strategy firm, is aggressively accumulating BTC, even as other companies are largely adopting a wait-and-witness approach.

Strategy’s Aggressive Accumulation

According to CryptoQuant, Strategy has purchased approximately 45,000 BTC over the last 30 days, marking its fastest pace of accumulation in nearly a year. Year-to-date, the firm has added roughly 90,000 BTC to its holdings. This contrasts sharply with other companies, whose combined purchases during the same period totaled less than 1,000 BTC.

A Shift in Corporate Bitcoin Treasury

Strategy’s buying volume represents the highest level since April of last year. The company maintains a consistent accumulation strategy, making purchases every 30-40 days regardless of market conditions. Meanwhile, most publicly traded companies have effectively halted their Bitcoin purchases.

Dramatic Decline in Overall Corporate Demand

The report highlights an extreme polarization within the corporate Bitcoin market. Excluding Strategy, recent 30-day purchases by other companies have decreased by approximately 99% compared to the peak of 69,000 BTC recorded in August of last year. Their share of overall corporate purchases has plummeted from 95% in October 2024 to just 2% currently.

Reduced Market Participation

Overall market participation has also significantly decreased. There were only 13 corporate Bitcoin purchases in the last 30 days, a 76% reduction from the 54 purchases during the “Bitcoin Treasury Summer” of August 2025.

Strategy Dominates Corporate Holdings

Currently, Strategy holds approximately 762,099 BTC, representing about 76% of all Bitcoin held by publicly traded companies. Twenty One Capital holds the second-largest amount with approximately 43,514 BTC, followed by MARA with 38,689 BTC and Metaplanet with 35,102 BTC – a substantial gap in holdings.

Factors Behind the Shift

The report suggests several factors contributing to the slowdown in purchases by other companies, including financial constraints, changes in capital allocation priorities, and cautious approaches to the current price levels. Market observers believe these trends could significantly impact the sustainability of corporate demand and Bitcoin’s price support.
