Ukraine‘s Drone Production Soars, Meets Defense Forces‘ Core Needs

In a significant milestone, Ukraine’s drone production for its Defense Forces reached 96.2% in 2024, according to Rustem Umerov, the country’s top military official. This remarkable figure can be attributed to the successful collaboration between the Ukrainian government and local manufacturers.

Last year, Ukrainian enterprises rolled out and assembled a staggering array of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including:

  • Over 1.5 million First Person View (FPV) drones
  • Strike copter-bombers
  • Kamikaze planes
  • Reconnaissance drones with wings
  • Deep strike drones with extended range

Umerov emphasized that these impressive numbers reflect a new level of efficiency in state and production industry cooperation. He further asserted that partnering with domestic enterprises would remain a top priority in 2025.

Record-breaking Drone Deliveries Triple the Impact

Maintaining this momentum, General Alexander Syrskiy, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, recently announced that drone system deliveries to Ukrainian units have surged by a factor of 19 compared to 2023. This substantial increase has, in turn, led to a 3.7-fold rise in the number of enemy targets destroyed or disabled.

Highlighting the importance of self-sufficiency in technology, Syrskiy affirmed that Ukraine would push ahead with the enhancement of its drone manufacturing capabilities, tailored to meet the demands of contemporary warfare.

udan.co.uk – 27/12/2024 – UKRAINE: Wave of Suicide Drones Sting Overnight; Thousands Flee

Waves of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have swarmed across Ukraine‘s skies for the first time since November, sending thousands of residents fleeing and stirring a national air-raid warning. Starting on the evening of 26 December, the first UAVs crossed into Ukrainian airspace from the east and northeast, marking a significant uptick in Russia’s aerial attacks.

Around 9 PM, Ukrainian military sources confirmed sightings of both combat and reconnaissance drones skirting along the borders of Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Dnipro regions, reportedly heading towards the latter. Simultaneously, several groupings of UAVs surfaced in Sumy and Dnipro regions, heading towards Kherson in the south.

By 10:31 PM, more UAVs were spotted crossing over Poltava towards Kremenchuk. Following closely, another influx of drones was detected in the outlying areas of Kharkiv (23:11 PM). These were soon followed by (23:27 PM) more UAVs spotted moving from Poltava to the Chernihiv region.

Reports by midnight showed several drone groups targeting the city of Zolotonosha in Chernihiv (00:35 AM), while further UAV movements were tracked from Sumy to Poltava (01:37 AM), and a pair of drones was observed heading from Poltava towards Kyiv (01:59 AM).

By 2:24 AM, Ukrainian military reports indicated several groups of strike UAVs gearing up for a southern assault on Kyiv, triggering a full-scale national air-raid alert.

As Ukrainian forces repelled the attacks, using missiles and anti-aircraft artillery, a snapshot of the nationwide air defense map at 2:22 AM depicted a swarm of UAV movements across the country—visual evidence of the magnitude and persistence of the overnight assault.

Citizens across Ukraine are advised to stay alert and follow the instruction of local authorities to ensure their safety. The Ukrainian military continues to work tirelessly, safeguarding the skies and evoking resilience in Ukraine’s population. Stay tuned for further updates on this unfolding story.

Breaking News: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Strikes Ship in Crimean Bay

In a startling incident, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), also known as a drone, has collided with a ship in the bay near the village of Chernomorskoe in Crimea. The event occurred on Monday, December 23, around 17:00 local time, according to a statement from local sources.

A monitoring Telegram channel reports that the drone crashed into the Russian ship "Fedor Uryupin". The impact was above the waterline, preventing the vessel from sinking, but significant damage is believed to have been inflicted.

Who is Fedor Uryupin?

"Fedor Uryupin" is a Russian ship built in 2010. It was captured from Ukraine in 2014 following Russia‘s annexation of Crimea. Interestingly, sources from "Krymskiy Viter" suggest that the ship has been out of use recently.

This incident comes amidst ongoing tensions, with the annexation of Crimea being widely condemned internationally. In 2017, the Primorsky District Court of Odesa, Ukraine, froze the assets of the Russian-controlled "Chernomorneftegaz" enterprise, including a list of 27 vessels, among them the tugboat "Fedor Uryupin".
