Breaking: Missing Teen‘s Dog Found in Bulgaria, Search for Boy Continues
In a distressing turn of events, the dog of 13-year-old Nikolay from the village of Konyare in Star Pazardzhik region has been found, but the boy remains missing. The dog was discovered near Nikolay’s home around 7:40 PM yesterday, according to Mayor of Gurgovo municipality, Kancho Papazov.
The canine, which was heard barking by a nearby resident, was promptly recognized by Nikolay’s family as their missing pet. Unfortunately, despite hopes that the dog might lead them to Nikolay, no trace of the boy was found. Extensive search operations involving volunteers, police, and a specialized dog named Chada continued throughout the night with no success.
Nikolay, who has Down syndrome, was last seen at lunchtime on Tuesday and has been missing ever since, along with his loyal companion. Authorities are now deploying a helicopter to aid in the search, focusing on areas to the north of Nikolay’s home, as other potential exit routes are covered by CCTV cameras.
Police have reinforced the search perimeter, with the participation of firefighters, forestry officials, and local hunters combing through wooded areas where Nikolay might have sought shelter. Despite intensive efforts, the boy remains unaccounted for.
