He advocates for a return to the WWII model, where companies like Ford and General Motors could quickly convert their facilities to produce military equipment. To achieve this, he calls for a tenfold increase in equipment and a fundamental rethinking of industrial constraints.

Sankar believes the key to this revitalization lies in fostering a new generation of innovative companies – firms he calls “American Dynamism” – like Anduril, and Hadrian. He contrasts these agile, forward-thinking businesses with the “Big Defense” primes, which he suggests have grow bogged down in financial engineering and consolidation.
“You can fade away to irrelevance and subjugation, or we can actually mobilize,” Sankar concludes.
