Friend’s Prank Gone Wrong: The Second-Degree Burns That Followed

Title: Prank Gone Wrong: Teen Suffers Second-Degree Burns, Family Seeks Justice

In a sobering reminder of the limits of practical jokes, a 12-year-old boy is left with severe facial burns after a prank gone awry. The incident, reported by Bored Panda, highlights the devastating consequences that can arise from seemingly innocent jokes.

The victim, a young boy from Tifton, Georgia, was targeted by three of his friends who poured scalding water onto his body. The perpetrators, aged between 12 and 15, claimed they were merely engaging in a light-hearted prank. However, the outcome was far from funny.

The victim sustained second-degree burns on his face and was rushed to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment. He underwent surgery and is now recovering at home, with a healing process expected to take 12 to 14 days.

The family of the victim is grappling with the aftermath of the incident. Tiffany West, the boy’s mother, was understandably distraught, telling WALB 10, "I can’t really describe it right now. I was just mad, hurt, and shocked. I was just trying to get him some help."

The journey to the burn center was a lengthy one, approximately 200 miles or 320 kilometers away from their home. The distance has taken a toll on the family, with both parents having to leave their jobs to care for their son.

"Tiffany’s family and I aren’t working right now because we have to travel so much. We’re just here for him. Mentally, he needs counseling so he can trust people again," said Nachelle, Tiffany’s sister.

The financial burden is also weighing heavily on the family, who are now faced with substantial medical bills and are seeking justice for their son’s injuries.

The three perpetrators have been handed over to their families and are awaiting their next court date, scheduled for a month from now. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the numerous cases where pranks have spiraled out of control, with another such instance occurring in 2016. A 15-year-old boy in Australia, Jamie Cox, suffered a traumatic brain injury after being choked as part of a game gone wrong.

This tragic incident underscores the importance of promoting responsible and considerate behavior among young people, as the boundaries of acceptable pranks can often be misunderstood or ignored, leading to serious consequences.

Medan Mugging Goes Viral: Medical Student‘s Rough Relationship with Street Vendor

Medan, Indonesia – A medical student, identified only by her initial ‘F’, has been returning to her university after spending time at Pirngadi General Hospital (RSUD Pirngadi Medan) following an alleged assault on a roti bakar street vendor in Medan. Her return to campus in late July has raised questions about the incident and its aftermath.

According to Gibson Girsang, the Head of Public Relations at RSUD Pirngadi Medan, F was sent back to her university due to interpersonal issues with her peers. While he didn’t elaborate on the specifics, Girsang confirmed that the decision was made in late July.

The incident occurred on December 19, when F allegedly assaulted Fitra Samosir, a 26-year-old roti bakar vendor. The incident took place at Fitra’s workplace on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan in Medan Timur.

Earlier in the day, F had purchased a chocolate cheese roti bakar from Fitra. However, later that evening, F returned and threw two leftover pieces of roti bakar at Fitra, who was left with lacerations on his hand and forehead. Fitra later filed a police report (STTLP/B/3609/XII/2024/SPKT) detailing the incident.

This is not F’s first run-in with the law. In 2023, she was involved in a dispute with a couple in the parking lot of RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan over a parking spot, which was later resolved through mediation.

Medan Police Chief Kombes Gidion Arif Setyawan confirmed receiving Fitra’s report and stated that the police are currently investigating the incident. Gidion also revealed that he had spoken with Fitra via video call and observed bruising around his eye.

As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how this will impact F’s academic career and her relationship with her peers. Follow us for updates on this developing story.

Armed Robber Silenced by SPBU Staff and Crowd After Failing to Steal Cash in Lampung

Article:

In a dramatic turn of events, a brazen robber attempting to hold up a State Owenship Oil Company (SPBU) in Lampung met his match when the staff and bystanders quickly turned the tables on him. The failed heist, which ended in a struggle and the robber getting away with minor injuries but empty-handed, has since gone viral on social media.

The incident took place on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the SPBU in Gedong Tataan, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province. A video circulating online captures the chaotic scene as a group of individuals, presumably the SPBU staff and local residents, grapple with the armed suspect.

Initial reports from detikSumbagsel indicate that the robber posed as a customer wanting to fill up his vehicle with fuel before making his move. However, his plan was foiled when he was quickly overpowered by the staff and the crowd thatassembly.

Riswan, an eyewitness, recounted the incident, "He first tried to fill up his vehicle, but then he snatched the cash bag from one of the staff. Another motorist tried to intervene, and a struggle ensued. The robber was armed with a knife, but he was eventually subdued."

The altercation left one SPBU staff member injured after being stabbed by the assailant. The would-be thief managed to escape the scene, leaving behind his weapon.

The Pesawaran Police Criminal Investigation Unit (K divisão), confirms the incident and is now pursuing the suspect. Iptu Defrat Aulia Afrat, the Kasatreskrim of the Pesawaran Police, stated, "We are currently investigating the case and gathering statements from witnesses. We are also following other leads to Tracking down the suspect."

As the search for the failed robber continues, the incident serves as a reminder that communities working together can deter and foil criminal activities. It also highlights the bravery of the SPBU staff and bystanders who swiftly responded to protect themselves and their community.
