Pilar Fogliati and Fabio Paratici: A Blossoming Romance Defies Expectations
Italian actress Pilar Fogliati, known for her role as co-host on the recent Festival of Sanremo alongside Carlo Conti, is reportedly in a relationship with Fabio Paratici, a director at Fiorentina and former executive at Juventus. The pairing, revealed in an interview with the weekly magazine “F,” has sparked interest due to the contrasting worlds the two come from.
A Chance Encounter
The couple’s connection began unexpectedly at a casual dinner party hosted by mutual friends. “As they say: ‘Just when you’re not looking for it, when you least expect it, someone arrives,’” Fogliati shared with “F” magazine. She described these gatherings as “le cene contaminate” – dinners with a mix of people from different circles, which she finds particularly stimulating. “I had the good fortune to meet someone I really like,” she added.
Navigating Public Attention
The relationship quickly drew the attention of paparazzi, a new experience for Fogliati. Initially surprised, she decided to disregard outside opinions. “The fact that we come from two different worlds, the twenty years of age difference… But, to be honest: I don’t care,” Fogliati stated. “It’s a beautiful and genuine thing. It was the first time in my life I was photographed by the paparazzi. I immediately thought: ‘My God.’ Then, I told myself: ‘Pilar, it’s true, you’re happy, we’re in love. Who cares?’”
A Pattern of Age Gaps
Fogliati has a history of dating partners older than herself. Paratici is 53 years old. Reflecting on past relationships, she noted that a previous partner was only six years her senior, while another was significantly older. “There’s no rule, I simply fall in love with the person,” she explained. “I started working at twenty and immediately interacted with people of all ages, I don’t pay attention to it. I like people with integrity and Fabio has that. And he’s very funny. We laugh a lot.”
Family and Future Projects
Fogliati also discussed her family, mentioning her sisters aged 18 (Olimpia) and 36, residing in Amsterdam, and a brother aged 34 living in Paris. She is currently working on a film titled “Il profilo dell’altra,” directed by Francesco Bruni, scheduled for release in the autumn. She expressed a strong connection to the project, highlighting its exploration of intergenerational female friendships, mirroring her relationship with her 18-year-old sister, Olimpia.
Reflections on Life Choices
Looking back on her youth, Fogliati doesn’t regret past decisions, including turning down a place at Oxford University to pursue acting. “The oblivion you experience after graduating is devastating,” she confessed to “F.” “You’re still too young to understand what your path will be. I was totally lost. My mother encouraged me in both good and awful ways, by presenting me with a range of possibilities, but also putting a lot of pressure on me. I had been accepted to Oxford to study History of Art, which I didn’t care about at all. So, without telling anyone, I auditioned for the Accademia nazionale d’arte drammatica Silvio D’Amico and I was accepted.”
