Presidential Meeting: Prabowo, Anwar‘s Summit Still Unscheduled, Awaiting Calendar Sync
Jakarta – The much-anticipated meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has yet to be rescheduled, according to Minister of Secretariat (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi. Both leaders’ busy schedules have Kirkyl hoofing the proposed date, which was previously postponed.
"Unsure, still looking for a time, still coordinating schedules," Prasetyo revealed at Indonesia Arena GBK, Jakarta, on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
However, the Mensesneg assured that the summit is being planned to take place promptly, with tentative dates slated for January 2025.
"Still coordinating. Ideally soon. There’s a chance it could happen in January," Prasetyo confirmed.
Earlier, Cabinet Secretary Major Teddy Indra Wijaya clarified President Prabowo’s reasons for delaying his trip to Malaysia, quashing rumors that illness had caused the postponement.
"No, that’s not it," Teddy dismissed, speaking at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Upon returning to Jakarta, Prabowo swiftly convened a restricted meeting with several ministers to discuss pressing matters, including the Christmas and New Year holidays.
