Polisi Unveils Rp 2 Billion Slush Fund Behind PPDS Student’s Death; Lawmaker Calls for Comprehensive Undip Program Review

Jakarta – Authorities have exposed a Rp 2 billion money trail in the case of bullying that led to the death of Aulia Risma, a student in the Program Pendidikan Dokter Spesialis (PPDS) in Anesthesia at the University of Diponegoro (Undip). The revelation has prompted calls for a thorough review of the PPDS program at Undip.

Ketua Komisi X DPR-RI, Hetifah Sjaifudian, urged both the government and the commission to support a comprehensive evaluation of the PPDS program at Undip. She believes this is crucial for identifying the root cause of problems, eliminating a culture of violence and exploitation, and ensuring the program upholds ethic, legal, and academic standards.

"Both the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education and the Ministry of Health should work together to conduct a thorough audit of the systems, policies, and learning environment at PPDS Undip," Hetifah asserted via WhatsApp to detikcom on Saturday (28/12/2024).

The aim of this audit, according to Hetifah, is to create a conducive learning environment, respect the rights of students, and produce medical professionals who are both competent and ethical. She also encouraged victims of bullying and exploitation at PPDS Undip to speak up and report their cases to the authorities.

"Victims must have the courage to report these incidents to the relevant authorities or use the available campus complaint mechanisms," Hetifah emphasized.

In a previous report, police revealed that the money trail in the bullying case of the PPDS student reached Rp 2 billion. One piece of evidence, a note containing Rp 97 million, was successfully recovered. According to Direktorat Reserse Kriminal Umum Polda Jawa Tengah Kombes Dwi Subagio, the money was collected from bullying victims in one semester in a single batch.

"Based on evidence, the total amount involved is around Rp 2 billion," Kombes Dwi Subagio was quoted as saying by detikJateng on Friday (27/12/2024).

Woman Alleges Forced False Rape Report by Ex-husband; Fears Reopening of Closed Case

JAKARTA — Arimbi is speaking out, alleging she was forced by her ex-husband, Yudi, to file a false rape report in 2017, a case that has since been closed. She claims Yudi threatened and even assaulted her, making her fear the reopening of the case. Arimbi, in a video statement, said she was intimidated by Yudi into fabricating the report, which implicated a man identified only by the initial ‘D’. "When Y was not watching, I managed to tell the police that the report was fake," she revealed.

Arimbi also disclosed being held captive for three days by Yudi, during which she was coerced into claiming she was raped by ‘D’. She was fortunate to be rescued by the police. Arimbi believes Yudi’s actions stemmed from jealousy, as ‘D’ was a former partner. "He thought I was lying about being raped because I changed my statement," she explained, noting she initially gave a false statement out of fear for her life.

Yudi’s recent appearance at the Regional House of Representatives (DPR), Komisi III, has reignited the long-closed case. Arimbi’s lawyer, Muhammad Arnaz, plans to file a request with Komisi III for his client to give her account of events. Arnaz hopes the commission will provide a platform for Arimbi to clear her name and refute Yudi’s claims.

The couple divorced in 2018, ending all communication, including with their child, aged 12 at the time, who was also allegedly involved in the case.

Bizarre Bus Incident in Wonosobo: Vehicle with Hikers Trapped Near Cemetery

A peculiar incident has taken the internet by storm, with a 6-second video going viral on Instagram. The footage shows a bus situated in an area filled with graves. The account @kejadiantemanggung uploaded the video on Saturday, December 28, 2024, around 11:00 AM WIB, which has since garnered over 4,000 views from netizens.

The video, captioned with an eerie narrative, describes the bus carrying a group of hikers who suddenly found themselves in a cemetery in Kwadungan Village, Kalikajar Subdistrict, Wonosobo Regency. The caption reads, "This is a bizarre occurrence. The bus driver, following the GPS, unknowingly entered a cemetery. Luckily, both the bus and its passengers are safe. The location is identified as Pencar, Kwadungan, Kalikajar, Wonosobo (28/12/2024)."

Confirming the incident, the Head of the Wonosobo Police Public Relations, Aipda Nanang DP Wibowo, stated that a bus indeed got stuck in a rural pathway near a cemetery. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, December 28, 2024, at around 4:00 AM WIB.

The harrowing journey began when a bus with the license plate AA 7102QE was transporting hikers from Brebes Regency to Gunung Sumbing. However, after following Google Maps’ instructions, the vehicle became unstuck in a rural pathway in the cemetery area.

With no room to turn around, the bus was forced to make an improvisation. The 30 passengers were transferred to another vehicle and continued their journey to the Kaliangkrik, Magelang basecamp. Meanwhile, the stranded bus had to be assisted by a tow truck to reverse its path and return to the main road.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident. After being towed, the bus continued its journey to the Kaliangkrik, Magelang basecamp via the main road, passing through Kertek and then Temanggung.

This unusual event serves as a reminder for all travelers to stay alert and beware of the potential pitfalls that may come with relying solely on GPS. After all, the best adventure tales are often the peculiar ones.

Headline:
Man from Magelang Receives Smallest Compensation for Land Acquired by Jogja-Bawen Toll Road Project

Article:

A resident of Magelang, Mulyanto (68), has received the smallest amount of compensation among landowners affected by the Jogja-Bawen Toll Road project. Despite owning a plots measuring 1,100 square meters, only a minuscule 0.3 square meters was acquired for the toll road construction. Mulyanto received his compensation directly at Karangkajen Village Hall on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

"I attended the socialization of compensation distribution earlier," Mulyanto recalled. "At that time, I didn’t think my land would be affected. I was surprised to find out only a small part of it was taken, just 30 centimeters."

The affected area, which measures a mere 30 centimeters by 10 meters, is part of Mulyanto’s paddy field. He described it as a narrow strip that extends along the edge of his land. "It’s just a small corner of my rice field," he said with a smile.

Mulyanto, a grandfather of three, received a compensation of IDR 254,000 for his affected land. When asked about his plans for the money, he laughed and said, "I’ll use it to buy snacks for my grandchildren. Even though the amount is small, it’s still a blessing."

Land Details and Impact

detikJateng visited Mulyanto’s land in Dusun Karangtalun, Desa Karangkajen, Kecamatan Secang, Magelang. The affected area is located along the alternative road from Magelang City to Grabag, Kabupaten Magelang, passing through the Pancuranmas area.

The land, affected by the toll road Project’s right-of-way (PSN), is situated at the edge of Mulyanto’s rice field. Previously planted with corn, the land is now being prepared for paddy transplantation.

Not the First Case

Head of Magelang Regency’s National Land Agency (BPN), A. Yani, stated that they have been making compensation payments for 78 land plots in Desa Karangkajen this year. The smallest affected area measured only 0.3 square meters.

While this is not the first case of a small affected area, Yani mentioned that they have previously encountered a case where the affected land was less than 1 square meter. "Karangkajen has over 300 land plots, and 78 of them met the criteria and were submitted for compensation this year," Yani said.

He also mentioned that among the recipients, one person had three plots affected, measuring 7, 4, and 4 square meters each. However, the smallest affected area recognized in this latest round of payments is only 0.3 square meters.

"We have detected and processed even the smallest affected areas, ensuring that no losses go unnoticed," Yani concluded.

Residents ‘Caught on Tape’ by Semarang City Hall CCTV: What’s the Story?

by Chief Editor December 28, 2024

Title: Unintended CCTV Broadcast: Semarang‘s Surprise Room Revelation

In an unusual twist of events, a government-installed CCTV in Semarang suddenly began broadcasting scenes from a residential room, much to the surprise of locals and city authorities. The unplanned live feed went viral on social media, leaving the city administration in Semarang with some explaining to do.

The mysterious CCTV unfortunate incident came to light when a Facebook user shared screenshots of the live feed. The images depicted a humble abode with its inhabitants—an adult couple, children—going about their daily activities, including moments of leisure and sleep. The unexpected public airing of their private moments raised eyebrows, sparking curiosity and concern among netizens.

Responding to the public outcry, the Semarang City Administration (Pemkot) provided clarity on the unusual situation. According to Soenarto Soenarto, the head of the Semarang City Dis ninguna Informasi (Diskominfo), the incident wasn’t an act of CCTV hacking or a surveillance mishap. Instead, it was a result of faulty equipment and a well-intentioned but misguided attempt at repair.

"What happened wasn’t a case of CCTV hacking," Soenarto clarified. "It all started when the CCTV camera at an intersection in Kampung, Kuningan, Semarang Utara malfunctioned due to a broken cable. The cable was too short for the repair, and the technician promised to return in early January with the appropriate tools."

In the meantime, the CCTV was temporarily relocated to the home of the Village Secretary (Sekretaris RT)—who apparently didn’t realize it was still broadcasting live. The technician’s repair visit never materialized, leaving the CCTV to unwittingly stream the unsuspecting family’s private life.

Fortunately, the incident appears to have been an honest mistake, and no malicious intent was involved. Upon discovering the unexpected live feed, the City Administration swiftly addressed the issue and emphasize that the privacy of its citizens is paramount. The CCTV has since been disconnected and decommissioned.

Jokowi’s Retreat: A Jakarta Home Transforms into Jokowi’s Hub Post-Two Terms as Indonesian President

by Chief Editor December 26, 2024
written by Chief Editor

Headline:
Indonesia Awards Former President Joko Widodo a Luxurious Retirement Home

Subhead:
President Jokowi selects location, construction begins, and details of the retirement home given to ex-leaders by law.

Article:

In a time-honored tradition, Indonesia has awarded former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) a retirement home as he steps down from his presidential duties. The two-story house, located on a 12,000-meter-square plot in Blulukan, Karanganyar, Central Java, was chosen by Jokowi himself, marking the culmination of a long-standing perk for former presidents in Indonesia.

The provision of a retirement home for former presidents and vice presidents is enshrined in the Indonesian Constitution (UU Nomor 7/1978), which states that they are entitled to a suitable residence and a state-owned vehicle with a driver upon completion of their term. The Presidency Regulation (Perpres) Nomor 52/2014 further details that each president can only receive one such house, regardless of the number of terms served.

Jokowi’s retirement home is the latest in a series of homes given to former Indonesian presidents. Previous recipients include former President B.J. Habibie, who received a home in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, and Megawati Soekarnoputri, who was given a residence in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The Indonesian government has spared no expense in providing for Jokowi’s retirement needs. The 12,000-square-meter plot, initially 9,000 meters square, was expanded by 3,000 meters square to accommodate a single remaining plot, according to Sekretaris Kementerian Sekretariat Negara, Setya Utama. The total cost, which included land acquisition and construction, amounted to IDR 5 billion in Bea Perolehan Hak Atas Tanah dan Bangunan (BPHTB) fees alone, as revealed by the then-Bupati of Karanganyar, Juliyatmono.

The construction of Jokowi’s retirement home is being handled by PT Tunas Jaya Sanur, a prominent Bali-based construction company with a long track record of building high-profile projects. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in July 2024, although Jokowi was absent and represented by a family member.

Despite the grandeur of the retirement home, it is not just a place for Jokowi to live out his remaining years. Upon his death, the house can be bequeathed to his heirs, ensuring a lasting legacy for the Jokowi family.

As of October 2024, the construction of Jokowi’s retirement home is ongoing, with progress updates indicating that the project is on track for completion by December of that year.

In the meantime, Indonesia continues to uphold the tradition of providing for its former leaders, ensuring they enjoy a comfortable and dignified retirement after their years of service to the nation.

Colomadu Home Emerges as Jokowi’s Haven After Leaving Indonesia’s Presidency

Title: Indonesian President Joko Widodo Receives Retirement Home from the State

Article:

In a tradition followed for each outgoing president, Indonesia‘s seventh president, Joko Widodo, has been gifted a retirement home by the state. The home, located in Jalan Adi Sucipto, Desa Blulukan, Colomadu, Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah, was chosen by Jokowi himself. This allocation is not only a benefit stipulated in the laws of Indonesia but also a well-established practice for former presidents and vice presidents.

The retirement home benefit is rooted in the Indonesian Constitution, specifically in theLaw Number 7 of 1978, which dicates that a former president or vice president who leaves office honorably is entitled to a suitable residence equipped with facilities and a state-owned vehicle with a driver.

The presidential regulation (Perpres) No. 52 of 2014 further details these benefits, stating that a former president or vice president is entitled to only one residence, regardless of whether they served more than one term.

President Joko Widodo joins a line of predecessors who have received retirement homes. Soeharto received a home in the TMII area, Gus Dur was given land in Kuningan, Megawati received a home in Menteng, and SBY was gifted a home in Setiabudi.

The president’s retirement home spans 12,000 square meters, initially planned to be 9,000 square meters but later expanded. This extension, according to Setya Utama, Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg), was due toextra land remaining, which was incorporated into the final plan.

The property, valued at around IDR 10-12 million per square meter currently, was purchased with a Rp 5 billion payment for the transfer of land ownership rights. Additionally, the retirement home can be bequeathed to the president’s heirs.

Groundbreaking and Construction Updates

The groundbreaking ceremony for the retirement home took place in July 2024, attended by Jokowi’s family members but not the president himself. The event was private, with local officials not invited. The construction is being carried out by PT Tunas Jaya Sanur, a Bali-based contracting company with a history of high-profile projects.

As of October 2024, the foundation of the residence was completed, with preparations ongoing for the final structure. The home is expected to be ready by December 2024, though it may not be fully completed when Jokowi’s term ends on October 20, 2024.
