Seventeen women were rescued from the Manar beauty salon in the A-Tur neighborhood of Jerusalem on Wednesday after falling unconscious due to carbon monoxide poisoning. According to Magen David Adom (MDA), twelve women aged 20 to 40 were evacuated to three different medical centers, while the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority reported that three suspects were later detained by Jerusalem District Police for questioning.
How the incident occurred
The emergency began when carbon monoxide accumulated inside the salon. The Israel Fire and Rescue Authority stated that an initial investigation identified the source of the gas as a generator that had been illegally connected to the building. Firefighters arrived on the scene to address the leak and ensure no further risk remained to the public. Officials emphasized that the incident was contained to the salon and posed no danger to surrounding buildings.
Medical response and patient status
Emergency responders from Magen David Adom transported twelve of the seventeen victims to hospitals for treatment. According to MDA, seven of these women were in moderate condition, while five were suffering from mild symptoms. The women were distributed among three facilities: Hadassah-University Medical Center in Ein Kerem, Hadassah-University Medical Center on Mount Scopus, and Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Shaare Zedek reported that it is currently treating three women in moderate condition, noting that all three patients are conscious.

What may happen next
The investigation into the salon's safety practices is ongoing. Further updates on the condition of the remaining hospitalized women may be provided by medical staff as the victims continue their recovery.
