Preliminary reports indicate a white Kia sedan, travelling from Mashaeng towards Fouriesburg, allegedly failed to stop at an intersection. This resulted in a T-bone collision with a white Mercedes-Benz 22-seater minibus taxi travelling from Ficksburg to Pretoria.

Fatalities and Injuries
The sedan carried five occupants. Three died at the scene, and two were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The minibus taxi was carrying 22 people, including the driver. Tragically, the driver and two passengers of the taxi died at the scene. The remaining 19 occupants sustained injuries and received medical treatment at hospitals in Bethlehem and Bohlokong.
Warrant Officer Mophiring stated that the names of the deceased and injured will not be released until next of kin have been notified and formal identification processes are complete. A case of culpable homicide has been opened.
