Woman Alleges Forced False Rape Report by Ex-husband; Fears Reopening of Closed Case

JAKARTA — Arimbi is speaking out, alleging she was forced by her ex-husband, Yudi, to file a false rape report in 2017, a case that has since been closed. She claims Yudi threatened and even assaulted her, making her fear the reopening of the case. Arimbi, in a video statement, said she was intimidated by Yudi into fabricating the report, which implicated a man identified only by the initial ‘D’. "When Y was not watching, I managed to tell the police that the report was fake," she revealed.

Arimbi also disclosed being held captive for three days by Yudi, during which she was coerced into claiming she was raped by ‘D’. She was fortunate to be rescued by the police. Arimbi believes Yudi’s actions stemmed from jealousy, as ‘D’ was a former partner. "He thought I was lying about being raped because I changed my statement," she explained, noting she initially gave a false statement out of fear for her life.

Yudi’s recent appearance at the Regional House of Representatives (DPR), Komisi III, has reignited the long-closed case. Arimbi’s lawyer, Muhammad Arnaz, plans to file a request with Komisi III for his client to give her account of events. Arnaz hopes the commission will provide a platform for Arimbi to clear her name and refute Yudi’s claims.

The couple divorced in 2018, ending all communication, including with their child, aged 12 at the time, who was also allegedly involved in the case.

Residents ‘Caught on Tape’ by Semarang City Hall CCTV: What’s the Story?

Title: Unintended CCTV Broadcast: Semarang‘s Surprise Room Revelation

In an unusual twist of events, a government-installed CCTV in Semarang suddenly began broadcasting scenes from a residential room, much to the surprise of locals and city authorities. The unplanned live feed went viral on social media, leaving the city administration in Semarang with some explaining to do.

The mysterious CCTV unfortunate incident came to light when a Facebook user shared screenshots of the live feed. The images depicted a humble abode with its inhabitants—an adult couple, children—going about their daily activities, including moments of leisure and sleep. The unexpected public airing of their private moments raised eyebrows, sparking curiosity and concern among netizens.

Responding to the public outcry, the Semarang City Administration (Pemkot) provided clarity on the unusual situation. According to Soenarto Soenarto, the head of the Semarang City Dis ninguna Informasi (Diskominfo), the incident wasn’t an act of CCTV hacking or a surveillance mishap. Instead, it was a result of faulty equipment and a well-intentioned but misguided attempt at repair.

"What happened wasn’t a case of CCTV hacking," Soenarto clarified. "It all started when the CCTV camera at an intersection in Kampung, Kuningan, Semarang Utara malfunctioned due to a broken cable. The cable was too short for the repair, and the technician promised to return in early January with the appropriate tools."

In the meantime, the CCTV was temporarily relocated to the home of the Village Secretary (Sekretaris RT)—who apparently didn’t realize it was still broadcasting live. The technician’s repair visit never materialized, leaving the CCTV to unwittingly stream the unsuspecting family’s private life.

Fortunately, the incident appears to have been an honest mistake, and no malicious intent was involved. Upon discovering the unexpected live feed, the City Administration swiftly addressed the issue and emphasize that the privacy of its citizens is paramount. The CCTV has since been disconnected and decommissioned.

Title: Indonesian Woman Seeks Divorce After Being Coerced into Filing False Violence Resource Center”>Rape Report

Jakarta, Dec 28 (via Detik) – Arimbi, a 39-year-old woman, has decided to divorce her husband, Yudi, after being forced to file a false rape report against him. Arimbi described her former spouse as temperamental and a former narcotics user.

"Yudi was not only temperamental but also jealous, and he was an active drug user at the time we were together," Arimbi told reporters on Saturday. "I understand that police need evidence, not hallucinations, but this was too much."

Arimbi refuted Yudi’s claims during a parliamentary session on Thursday, December 19. She firmly stated that neither she nor her child had been sexually assaulted and that the 2017 case had been closed for years.

Arimbi revealed that Yudi’s excessive jealousy led her to make the false accusation. "I’ve heard him say that I should report ‘D’ for allegedly assaulting me, but nothing like that ever happened," she explained.

Throughout their relationship, Arimbi faced severe domestic violence. "He punched me on the face so hard that my eyelid’s blood vessels burst," she recalled.

Regrettably, their child was also drawn into the matter. Arimbi hopes to gain full custody, saying, "I don’t want my child to grow up with someone like him."

The case resurfaced when Yudi appeared at the parliamentary session, claiming that his wife had been sexually assaulted. Muhammad Arnaz, Arimbi’s lawyer, wishes to resolve this issue promptly.

In this fast-paced world, transparency and honesty are key. Arimbi’s courage to speak up against domestic abuse should serve as an inspiration to others. Let this story be a reminder that no one deserves to live in fear, and everyone has the right to safety and justice.

Flood Hits Semarang’s Meteseh Village

by Chief Editor December 12, 2024
written by Chief Editor

In Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, a flood has hit the Meteseh sub-district due to a 20-meter-long break in the Kali Tunggal dam. The flood caused the river’s water to enter residents’ homes. According to CNN Indonesia, the water level on Jalan Perumahan Dahlia RT 8 RW 9 reached about 1.5 meters, or roughly the height of an adult’s waist. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 11, with the power supply to the housing estate also shut off around 20:59 WIB as residents were evacuating. Some residents were seen cleaning their homes of mud left behind by the flood, with furniture like mattresses, sofas, and wardrobes visibly damaged. One resident named Yuni, 50, said that the water had not yet receded from her home by 21:30 WIB. Additionally, Azizah, 30, and her two children wereforced to evacuate, describing this flood as the worst she had experienced, worse than the one from the previous year. The break in the dam occurred at around 18:00 WIB. Authorities including disaster management officials, search and rescue teams, and volunteers from the Indonesian Red Cross were present at the scene, ready to assist and evacuate affected residents using rubber boats.

Subheading: Tanggul Kali Jebol (Flood Levee Breach) Leaves Residents Scrambling for Safety

Article:

SEMARANG, Indonesia — The usually bustling neighborhood of Meteseh in Semarang, Central Java’s capital, has been reduced to a vast expanse of water, as catastrophic floods have submerged homes and displaced hundreds of families. The flooding, which began on January 1, 2023, was triggered by the abrupt breach of a flood defense structure, locally known as ‘Tanggul Kali.’

Breach of Tanggul Kali

The Tanggul Kali, designed to protect low-lying areas from riverine flooding, suddenly gave way due to the immense pressure from surging waters of the Code River. The breach allowed an overwhelming deluge of water to pour into Meteseh, catching residents off guard and leaving them with little time to evacuate.

Banjir Rendam Rumah Warga (Submerged Homes)

Videos and images circulating on social media reveal the grim reality: houses half-submerged in murky, swirling water, with residents standing on rooftops, waiting for rescue. The waist-deep floodwaters displaced at least 1,500 families, forcing them to take shelter in nearby schools, mosques, and relief centers.

Rendam (Submerged) but Not Deterred

Among the affected is 55-year-old Rohimah, a mother of four. Her home was completely submerged, leaving her and her family with nothing but the clothes on their backs. "We managed to evacuate just in time," she said, her voice heavy with relief and worry. "I’ve lost everything, but I’m grateful we’re safe."

Local Response and Aid

Authorities have swiftly responded to the crisis, dispatching military and police personnel to assist with evacuations, rescue efforts, and the distribution of relief supplies. Food, clothes, and clean water are being distributed among the affected families.

Prevention and Preparedness

While relief and rescue operations continue, the breached Tanggul Kali is being reconstructed to prevent further flooding. Authorities are also calling for improved infrastructure, better town planning, and enhanced climate resilience to mitigate the impact of such disasters in the future.

The people of Meteseh, resilient and determined, look towards a cleansing, rebuilding process, hoping to return to their homes and restart their lives soon.
