Tragic Accident Chain on Bandung Lecturer Dies in Accident”>Cipularang Toll Road

A series of accidents occurred on the Cipularang Toll Road, heading towards Bandung at around 09:11 WIB on Sunday (5/1/2025). The incidents were triggered by a truck that was unable to climb a slope, causing it to back up and result in a chain of collisions. Traffic was significantly congested following the accidents.

The truck involved in the incident was later moved to the side of the road by authorities. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. Immediately after the incident, the Jasa Marga Motorway Administration’s Rapid Response Team from the Representative Office 3 of Jasa Marga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT), alongside Jasa Marga Tollroad Operator (JMTO) and police, arrived at the scene to secure the area and quickly manage traffic. By 09:28 WIB, one lane was reopened for traffic. By 10:05 WIB, all lanes were cleared, and traffic flowed normally.

The accidents involved six vehicles: one truck, two buses, and three private cars. Two people were injured and transported to Abdul Rodjak Hospital in Purwakarta for further treatment. Despite the seriousness of the incident, no fatalities were reported.

Jasa Marga reassured travelers that all lanes were clear and traffic was flowing as usual by 10:05 WIB. The company urges all motorists to exercise caution and comply with traffic laws to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Five-Vehicle Pileup on Toll Road Cipularang Causes Major Disruption and Injuries

JAKARTA — A chain reaction collision occurred on the Toll Road Cipularang at KM 97+200, involving five vehicles, on Sunday, January 5, 2025. The incident, which took place at 09:11 WIB, involved a truck, a bus, an intercity travel vehicle, and two minibuses or private cars, as reported by Antara, citing Senior Manager Representative Office 3 of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division Agni Mayvinna.

Several vehicles were damaged and promptly towed away following the incident. In its aftermath, two individuals sustained moderate and minor injuries and were subsequently transported to Abdul Rodjak Purwakarta Hospital. Police have cleared the scene, and traffic flow from Jakarta to Bandung has resumed, albeit at reduced speeds of 10-20 km/h.

Renewed traffic congestion extended up to 3-4 kilometers due to temporary road closures during the evacuation of victims and vehicles from the crash site. Authorities temporarily halted traffic heading towards Bandung to facilitate the emergency response, causing significant delays.

Eye-witness accounts suggest that the incident began when an overloaded truck carrying coal struggled to ascend a slope. The truck subsequently reversed, colliding into the vehicles behind it and triggering a chain reaction.
