The InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has launched a significant rejuvenation project within the luxury resort area of Nusa Dua. The initiative focuses on upgrading the Peninsula Island and the iconic Water Blow to ensure the destination remains modern and globally competitive.
Infrastructure Progress and Timeline
Now in its 18th week, the overall project has reached approximately 15% completion. According to Nusa Dua General Manager I Made Agus Dwiatmika, the development of the Water Blow access and Peninsula Island is the most advanced phase, currently sitting at 75% completion.
Other critical infrastructure works are similarly underway. The rejuvenation of the Gate AC access road to Peninsula Island is 30% complete, even as wastewater installation, infiltration, and Ground Water Tank (GWT) work have reached 12% completion.
Enhancing the Visitor Experience
The project aims to move beyond simple aesthetics to future-proof the region. ITDC is currently constructing rainwater catchment units in the bay area and improving road access to the Peninsula.
Additional supporting facilities are being developed, including new tourist restrooms and massage parlors designated for community groups. I Made Agus Dwiatmika stated that these improvements ensure public facilities are more responsive to the needs of quality tourism and international events.
A Hub for International Events
The importance of these upgrades was highlighted during the 2026 Adhyaksa International Run held on Sunday, April 26. Dwiatmika noted that such events strengthen the region’s appeal as a leading venue for sporting activities alongside its reputation as a leisure destination.
Further community events are scheduled for later this year. On July 26, 2026, the Peninsula Island will host the Culture Run Bali, an open-level event celebrating environmental awareness, sport, and Balinese culture.
For current visitors, ITDC has confirmed that construction disruptions have been kept to a minimum. Work is not affecting nearby resorts, and tourist visits to the Water Blow and Peninsula Island can continue as usual.
