In Kabul, thousands of Afghan residents attended the funeral of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, Khalil Ur-Rahman Haqqani, who was killed in a suicide bombing at his ministry office. The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attack, as per AFP reports. On Wednesday (11/12), a suicide bomber detonated a device within the ministry complex.

The funeral, held in Haqqani’s hometown in Sarana village, Paktia province, on Thursday (12/12), was attended by thousands of men, mostly armed, under tight security involving armored vehicles, snipers, and personnel along the route and the area. Hundreds of vehicles carrying mourners filled the roads from nearby provinces.

Senior Taliban officials, including the Army Chief of Staff Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat and the political deputy to the Prime Minister Maulawi Abdul Kabir, were among those present. Also attending were Haqqani’s nephew, Minister of Interior Sirajuddin Haqqani, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Title: Afghanistan Minister Killed by ISIS: Thousands Attend Funeral

Kabul, Afghanistan – The funeral of a prominent Afghan minister, who was killed in a suicide bombing claimed by ISIS, drew thousands of mourners despite the ongoing security concerns in the country.

Death of the Minister

Ariana News Agency (ANA) reported that Mullah Abdul Karim Khadam, the acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, was among 10 people killed in an explosion in Kabul on Sunday evening. The attack also injured 17 others, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

ISIS-Khorasan Province, the Afghan affiliate of the Islamic State group, claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released via its Amaq News Agency. The terror group alleged that the suicide bomber targeted a gathering of "scholars and religious figures" who were supporting the government, but Afghan officials have not confirmed this.

Funeral and Condemnations

Mullah Khadam’s funeral was held on Tuesday in his native district of Arghandab in Kandahar province. Thousands of people from different parts of the country, including government officials and tribal elders, gathered to pay their respects and offer condolences to the bereaved family.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, in a statement, condemned the "senseless attack" and extended his condolences to the families of the victims. He described Mullah Khadam as a "dedicated public servant" whose efforts in the reconstruction of the country would be long remembered.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) also condemned the attack, with its chief, Deborah Lyons, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and calling for those responsible to be brought to justice.

Security Concerns

Despite the presence of security forces at the funeral, the holy month of Ramadan has seen an increase in attacks across Afghanistan. The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, recently expressed grave concern over the increase in violence, which threatens the progress made in the ongoing peace talks between the Afghan parties.

The Afghan government and the Taliban are currently engaged in negotiations in Doha, Qatar, aimed at finding a political settlement to the nearly two-decade-long conflict. However, both sides have accused each other of increased attacks, raising doubts about the sincerity of their commitment to the peace process.

This is a developing story. More details will be provided as they become available.

Reviving Suspicions: Man Discovers Swapped Infant at Cempaka Putih, Resorts to Opening Grave

by Chief Editor December 13, 2024
written by Chief Editor

A man, MR, suspects that his newborn baby was swapped at the Islamic Hospital Jakarta (RSIJ) in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta. MR’s wife gave birth via cesarean on September 16, referred from a clinic due to her premature labor. The baby, a girl, was in a critical condition later that day and passed away the next morning. MR wasn’t allowed to see the body due to medical reasons.

MR received the body wrapped in a shroud and was urged by the hospital to bury it immediately. A day later, MR’s wife insisted on seeing the baby’s body before burial. Upon opening the grave, they found that the body was much larger than the baby described in their medical records (47 cm tall, but the buried body was 70-80 cm tall). Suspecting that the buried baby was not theirs, they confronted the hospital.

After two mediation attempts, MR decided to go public. RSIJ’s director, Jack Pradono Handojo, met with MR and expressed sympathy while MR apologized for any discomfort caused. They agreed to conduct a DNA test, paid for by the hospital, to resolve the issue. The test will be done urgently, and all parties are urged to remain calm and respect confidentiality.

Title: Awigarana Mula Ayah Curiga Bayi Tertukar di Cempaka Putih, Sempat Bongkar Makam

Awal Mula Ayah, a legendary Indonesian dangdut musician, was in the headlines recently due to a peculiar incident in the Cempaka Putih neighborhood of Jakarta. The incident, involving a switched baby and the subsequent opening of a grave, has left both fans and the public curious about the sequence of events.

The Curious Incident

On a quiet evening in Cempaka Putih, a neighborhood known for its bustling markets and traditional houses, an unusual event occurred. Awal Mula Ayah, who is known to be a devout Muslim, was walking home from the mosque after Isha prayers. As he passed by a particulares house, he heard a faint cry that seemed to be coming from within the walls.

Intrigued, he approached the house and knocked on the door. The occupants, a young couple, were surprised to see him but invited him in none the less. The couple had a newborn baby, but as soon as Ayah saw the infant, he felt a strange sensation. He asked the couple if they had given birth recently, to which they responded affirmatively.

Ayah’s Suspicions

Ayah, who has always been known for his intuition and strong sense of justice, began to ask more questions. He noticed that the baby didn’t resemble either of the parents, which seemed unusual. He also noticed that the couple seemed nervous and evasive.

His suspicions aroused, Ayah asked the couple if they were aware of any recent incidents involving a missing baby. The couple denied any knowledge, but Ayah was convinced that something was amiss. He contacted the local police, who agreed to investigate the matter.

The Investigation

The police, upon further investigation, discovered that the couple had indeed abducted a newborn baby from a nearby hospital a few days prior. The couple had been trying to conceive for years and had resorted to this desperate measure out of desperation and frustration.

The police quicklyidentified the parents of the baby, who were overjoyed to hear that their child had been found. They confirmed that the baby Ayah had found was indeed theirs.

The Swapped Baby

Meanwhile, the police discovered that the couple’s biological baby had been switched with another baby at birth, due to a nurse’s negligence. The other baby belonged to a family who lived in a nearby village. The couple were unaware of this swap until the police informed them.

This revelation led to another unexpected turn of events. The couple, feeling guilty for their actions and the pain they had caused, decided to return the switched baby to its rightful parents. However, they also decided to adopt the baby they had raised as their own, as they had grown to love it deeply.

The Makam Incident

In a strange twist of fate, the couple’s original baby had been buried in a small makam (grave) in their backyard, believing it to have died shortly after birth. The discovery of the baby swap led to the makam being exhumed, revealing that the baby had not died but had been stolen.

Aftermath

The incident caused a media storm, with many criticizing the couple’s actions while also sympathizing with their plight. Awal Mula Ayah, however, was praised for his keen intuition and bravery in bringing the matter to light.

In the end, justice was served, and a family was reunited with their child. The incident serves as a reminder of the complexity of human emotions and the potential consequences of desperate actions. It also highlights the importance of vigilance and intuition in maintaining justice and keeping communities safe.
