Indonesian Parliament‘s Ethics Panel Summons PDIP MP Rieke Diah Pitaloka Over PPN 12% Delay Remarks

Article:

The Ethics Committee of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), known as the Mahkamah Kehormatan Dewan (MKD), has received a complaint against PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) member Rieke Diah Pitaloka. The complaint arises from her remarks during a DPR plenary session, calling for the delay of the 12% Value-Added Tax (PPN) hike.

According to a document received by detik.com on Sunday, December 29, 2024, a letter numbered 743/PW.09/12/2024, dated December 27, 2024, was signed by the MKD chairman, Nazaruddin Dek Gam. The complainant, identified as Alfadjri Aditia Prayoga, filed the complaint on December 20, 2024, leading to an invitation for Ms. Rieke to the MKD’s boardroom on December 30, 2024.

The complaint, as cited in the letter, alleges a breach of ethics due to Ms. Rieke’s remarks on social media, urging people to reject the PPN 12% policy. MKD chairman Dek Gam confirmed receipt of the complaint and the ensuing summons but noted that it has been delayed due to the ongoing recess period. Members are currently in their respective constituencies, making a gathering unfeasible at the moment. Dek Gam mentioned that further actions would be determined by the panel upon their reconvening.

Gowa Police Conclude Investigation, Designate Annar Salahuddin Sampetoding as Suspect in Fake Money Syndicate Case

The Gowa Police have completed their investigation into the involvement of local businessman Annar Salahuddin Sampetoding, alias ASS, in a counterfeit money syndicate operating at UIN Alauddin Makassar, South Sulawesi. The police have designated Annar as a suspect in the case.

"His status is now a suspect," confirmed Gowa Police Chief AKBP Reonald T.S Simanjuntak to journalists on Saturday, December 28, 2024. The police formalized Annar’s status as a suspect earlier today, although AKBP Reonald did not provide details on Annar’s role within the fake money syndicate.

The investigation of Annar Salahuddin Sampetoding spanned over 24 hours before he was officially designated as a suspect. "It’s already been more than 24 hours (since his questioning)," AKBP Reonald confirmed.

AKBP Reonald further disclosed that the details of the case and Annar’s involvement will be officially announced by South Sulawesi Police Chief Irjen Yudhiawan Wibisono on Monday, December 30.

"Kapolda will release an official statement on Monday," AKBP Reonald said.

Earlier reports indicate that Annar Sampetoding had responded to Gowa Police’s summons on Thursday, December 26, and was questioned until 4:00 AM the following morning. Annar had initially skipped a previously scheduled summon on Monday, December 23, leading to another police notice being sent to him.

All Members of DPR Commission XI Eligible for BI CSR Funds” Or, for a more concise version: “DPR Commission XI Members Eligible for BI CSR Funds

Heads: Members of DPR‘s Komisi XI Admit to Using Bank Indonesia’s CSR Funds; Satori Defends Against Bribery Allegations

Subhead: CSR funds meant for public welfare appear to be channeled into personal Dapil programs by legislators, raising concerns of misuse for political gains.

Byline: Tessa Anggita / Jakarta

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — Members of the DPR’s Komisi XI have openly acknowledged utilizing Bank Indonesia’s (BI) corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for projects in their respective electoral districts. Among them is Satori, who vehemently denies any bribery involvement, insisting on cooperating with ongoing legal proceedings.

"I’m not the only one; all Komisi XI members have access to these funds," Satori confirmed while departing from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) headquarters, shortly after being summoned as a witness in the case.

The CSR funds, meant to benefit local communities, appear to have been channeled into legislators’ personal projects and initiatives, raising concerns about misuse for political gain. The KPK has been investigating this alleged misappropriation, conducting raids on BI offices and seizing related documents and electronic devices.

Satori insisted that there was no bribery involved, stating, "There’s absolutely no bribe, absolutely none." He and fellow legislator Heri Gunawan were summoned by the KPK as part of the ongoing investigation.

The misuse of CSR funds, intended for public welfare, has become a growing concern. Such funds are meant to drive positive change in communities but have increasingly been linked to political agendas and personal gain.

This developing story is a stark reminder of the need for transparent and accountable use of funds meant to serve the public interest.
