Advanced Grip Control featureThis is very useful because Indonesia has very diverse road conditions. With this feature, the owners of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUV in Indonesia will be better prepared when they have to go through unexpected road conditions. ” said Samsudin, as the National Technical Advisor of Astra Peugeot.

Snow Mode, a feature that some people might consider unused in Indonesia, can still play an important role in dealing with several situations in Indonesia. This feature gives the car the ability to adapt to the grip strength of each wheel. In this condition, when the car is moved from a static condition by optimizing the rotation of the wheels so that it can accelerate optimally based on the available traction. In Indonesia, this feature is useful when going through very steep / steep road conditions.

Mud Mode, a feature for muddy road conditions, provides access to the wheels with the least traction. Abundant wheel rotation when you want to move the car from a static condition. Generally, it occurs on muddy roads. This is easier because the fast spinning of the wheels on the low traction wheels helps to get rid of the sludge for maximum traction.

Sand Mode, this mode is very useful when going through sandy roads. This mode provides access for the two drive wheels to turn low but repeatedly to avoid the wheels trapped in the sand. This often happens when you force the wheels to turn quickly on a road filled with sand.

Normal Mode, this mode provides a calibrated wheel system with each other. This is the most ideal mode when going through paved roads in general.

ESP OFF, this mode is disconnected dynamic stability control(ESP) and traction assistance (ASR) give the driver complete control of the torque transferred to the two drive wheels. However, for safety, this feature will connect at speeds above 50 km / hour.

Peugeot 3008, the restyling reconciles aesthetics and contents

So peculiar, these optical groups made their appearance on the New 208, on the young man crossover 2008 and could not be missing in the mid-cycle restyling of the 3008 SUV. The redesigned front is the most evident aesthetic aspect of the new model, with the wide checkerboard grille and without frame, although the fari posteriori Full LED and on the sides the side air intakes integrated in the bumpers. For those who like to stand out further, the specific grille with a modular pattern appears on GT models and those equipped with GT Pack. But the “feline” lights are not only aesthetically beautiful, they also have a technical value in terms of safety.

In fact, they implement the curved interior lighting function (EVS) which optimizes visibility up to 90 km / h speed. Furthermore, the new 3008 adopts the “Fog Mode” function, which integrated into the Full LED headlamps takes the place of traditional fog lights. Therefore, contents, such as those for security offered by Night Visionnot to mention other sophisticated driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function,Advanced Grip Control which optimizes the traction of the front-wheel drive versions and the VisioPark 360 degrees to carry out parking maneuvers in complete safety.

The interior of the new Peugeot 3008 is decidedly premium. There is the new i-Cockpit dotato di Head-up Digital Display, with 10 inch high definition touch screen. Ferrari Omologato, a Ferrari like no other

NEW – A name evoking the GTO, a rear hatch covered with louvers: Maranello’s latest bespoke creation offers a journey of nostalgia.

Ferrari

Even in the choice of appellation, the shadow of the famous Ferrari 250 GTO (O for Omologato) seems to have hovered over the design of the latest bespoke creation from the House of Maranello. From the 812 Superfast from which it borrows the platform and the V12, the Ferrari Omologato has kept only the windshield and headlamps. Everything else is new. This is what the informed European collector, at the origin of the order, wanted.

Ferrari

From the first sketches to the delivery of this unique berlinetta, two years have passed. The 250 GTO clearly inspired this unique berlinetta. The sloping and smooth front hood adopts two gills and a flattened oval grille that refer to those of the GTO of 1962. ‘a light car. The rear scrambles the cards. The louvers covering the large bezel suggest that the engine is installed at the rear. The two double lights of the 812 Superfast are replaced by a single equipment.

Ferrari

The interior treatment takes a trip back to the 1960s. Like those in racing cars and the 250 GTO, the leather and jeans fabric seats are electric blue, while the metal parts of the dashboard and the The arch housing the gearbox knobs mimic the crackle paintwork of sixties GTs.

Because of Corona – Opel wants to extend short-time work until the end of 2021! – Domestic policy

Not good news for Opel employees!

Because of the Corona crisis, short-time working at the car manufacturer Opel is expected to be extended until 2021 – provided the employment agency agrees. This was agreed by the management and the general works council, as the company announced on Saturday.

And: Opel wants to open its partial retirement program to all employees born in 1964, it says in a key issues paper.

For Ferdinand Dudenhöffer (69) from the Center Automotive Research, a clear wrong decision: “It seems bizarre that right now, when the voluntary severance pay programs at Opel are stalling and company boss Lohscheller is threatened with redundancies, IG-Metall and Opel will work together with Opel on short-time allowance until the end of 2021 applied for, ”says the auto expert to BILD.

Short-time work over such long periods of time would “knock the employees soft” and make your own company “mad”, says Dudenhöffer. “IG Metall and the Opel works council must therefore ask themselves whether they will not become the stirrup holder for severance pressure on employees.”

Further: “If the assumption is correct, Opel is one of the examples that show that state short-time working allowance can contribute to job cuts. Not necessarily in the spirit of the inventor and Minister of Labor Heil. ”

Interesting: According to Dudenhöffer, Opel should have contractually ruled out redundancies for operational reasons by 2025. And: Opel is one of the few companies that made profits in the first half of the year. Means: With fewer employees and short-time work benefits, the profits are even greater, explains the auto expert.

Opel recently brought redundancies into play if an agreed volunteer program to cut jobs by the end of 2021 did not find the desired 2,100 participants. So far, only around 500 employees have decided to leave the car manufacturer. Opel boss Michael Lohscheller (51) had also emphasized that he was confident that he could find good solutions with the works council.

Peugeot returns to Le Mans. The new hypersport will be a hybrid quad bike with an output of 500 kW

Peugeot’s new special for Le Mans will use a hybrid drive with a total output of 500 kW. It is already shown in the first drawings.

Peugeot has been active in the racing field for a long time, but over the years it has gradually changed the disciplines in which it participates. In the past, we saw the French brand with a lion in the logo at the special stages in the rally, at the Dakar Endurance Rally or maybe at the Pikes Peak race. She is now returning to Le Mans, where she last participated with a diesel special Peugeot 908. This time, he deploys a hybrid car in the famous 24-hour race.

The French carmaker confirmed its return to Le Mans last autumn and now, during this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, this weekend has revealed details. He will return to the famous endurance race in 2020, right in the royal discipline. The newly designed special will be created according to the new rules of the Hypercar category.

“We are returning to endurance racing, because we have the opportunity to approach this sport differently, using hybridization, ie a combination of gasoline and electric propulsion. Peugeot Sport is changing its identity and launching a range of high-performance electrified Peugeot Sport Engineered cars, namely the first 508 model with 360 hp, all-wheel drive and 46 g CO emissions2. This endurance program allows us to fully enter the transition to new energy sources, “ Peugeot Director Jean-Philippe Imparato comments on this step.

Several criteria were decisive for the choice of the LMH category, one of which was a certain aerodynamic freedom. Thanks to it, it was possible to maintain and use the aesthetic principles of the brand with the help of the Peugeot Design studio. This is clear from the first published sketches showing the first design proposals, the diode “claws” are a clear reference to the same design element of production cars.

“The new Le Mans Hypercar category offers a unique historical opportunity for collaboration between sports and design teams. The appearance of the vehicles will no longer be the result of a purely technical optimization in the wind tunnel, but we will have the space to create a unique iconic object combining performance and expressiveness. We intend to make the most of the freedom offered, so the whole project is very exciting for us, “ adds Peugeot chief designer Matthias Hossann.

The French brand has already indicated the basic technique of the upcoming special. It will have all-wheel drive and will be equipped – as required by regulations – with an electric motor with a maximum output of 200 kW on the front axle. The total power will be 500 kW (approx. 680 hp). Compared to what we currently know in the LMP1, the car will be closer to road vehicles, weigh more, and be longer (500 cm vs. 465 cm) and wider (200 cm vs. 190 cm).

The project is currently in the phase of preparing a study and concept. The engine architecture and the finished part of the aerodynamic concept have already been defined. At the same time, Peugeot wants to make the most of the freedom of the rules in this regard. For example, the electrical concept and the hybrid drive concept have yet to be addressed. By the way, Total is helping with the development. It is not only a supplier of fuels, but also already operates in the field of batteries, in an effort to be a multi-energy company.

He last started at Le Mans Peugeot in 2011. In 2009, the French team even won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the diesel special 908 HDi FAP. By the way, it was already a return, in the 1990s, the Peugeot 905 raced on the famous la Sarthe track.

New automotive giant to build popular Jeep

NEW YORKFiat Chrysler (FCA) y Peugeot Citroen (PSA) modified the terms of their merger due to the commercial disruptions caused by COVID-19 and thus give way to the birth of the fourth largest automaker in the world and the third in sales.

FCA agreed to reduce the exceptional dividend to be distributed to its shareholders to $ 3.4 billion against the $ 6.5 billion promised earlier. PSA, meanwhile, will distribute 46% of its shareholding in the French auto parts manufacturer Faurecia among all the shareholders of the new company instead of only among its own shareholders as planned.

The decision was made “to take into account the impact that the COVID-19 health crisis has had on the automotive industry,” both companies said in a joint note. At the same time, it seeks to “preserve the original balance of the merger” that should be completed by the end of the first quarter of next year, the statement added.

The merger, which was announced at the end of October 2019, will lead to the creation of Stellantis; a company that will be the fourth largest in the world in the automotive sector in terms of production volume and the third in sales.

Many loyal consumers in the US to brands like Jeep and Chrysler will have the opportunity to continue to enjoy these vehicles with a redesign that will not discard the traditional lines that made them popular in North America, both companies announced.

The new giant will manufacture brands such as Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep, Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

However, in recent months, questions have been looming about the balance of that union that had been announced as a marriage with common interests.

Due to the slowdown in trade caused by the pandemic, the two companies announced in May the waiver of the payment of an exceptional dividend of 1.3 billion dollars, which was planned as part of the merger.

The collection of André Lurton dispersed

The Artcurial house is auctioning off, on September 27 in Gironde, the civilian and military vehicles of this great Bordeaux figure.

Sales follow each other but do not resemble each other. Fifteen days after the dispersal of André Trigano’s automobiles, the Motorcars department of Artcurial sells the André Lurton collection. Deceased last year at age 94, this great Bordeaux figure, long president of the Syndicat viticole AOC Entre-Deux-Mers and administrator of the Interprofessional Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB), owner of Château Bonnet, in the heart of Entre-deux-Mers, had built a collection vehicles which certainly had neither the prestige nor the richness of that of Trigano but which recounted his personal journey.

Passionate about mechanics from a young age, André Lurton had for many years assembled vehicles revealing his story, that of his family and that of his wife, Elisabeth Garros. The Simca 6 reminded him of the car from his honeymoon in Chamonix. On the way back, the breakage of a shock absorber had forced them to wait two days on the banks of the Loire for the arrival of

Peugeot 3008 – claws sharpened

2016 was the year of the 3008 at Peugeot. The practical family van had reinvented itself and transformed into a self-confident high leg – in line with the prevailing trend towards SUVs. The harvest came in 2017, in the form of the European “Car of the Year” vote.

Four years is not an eternity, but in view of the ever faster developing techniques and technologies, it is a long period of time. Not only because of this – this year the brand is celebrating the 210th anniversary of its founding – Peugeot has sharpened it at all levels. In the case of the 3008, the anniversary is marked on the exterior with a completely redesigned front, which creates the optical connection to the 508 with a new light signature. The LED headlights have also been re-contoured with a sharply drawn lion’s claw design. In the interior, in addition to upgraded furniture, the currently revised version of the i-Cockpit is installed, with a new instrument cluster – 12.3 inches in size, individually configurable – and the latest HD technology for the infotainment system touchscreen.

In principle, the drive program has remained the same. It consists of a 1.2-liter and a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 131 and 181 hp and a 1.5-liter diesel with 131 hp. The versions with automatic transmission now have a driving mode switch (Eco, Normal, Sport) on the center console. The recently introduced plug-in hybrid offer remains unchanged: one 225 HP system output (and front-wheel drive) and one 300 HP system output (and electrically generated all-wheel drive).

The range of assistance systems has been expanded to include night vision support, and the further developed traffic sign recognition system shows speed limits, stop and one-way signs and no-overtaking signs in the instrument cluster.

Porsche 911 Turbo S, a show of strength

Not to be confused. Within the galaxy Porsche, there is the 911 and the one that we have become accustomed to simply calling “the Turbo”. For forty-five years, the latter has not stopped pushing the limits of the conceivable. In the space of eight generations, its flat-six changed planet, going from 260 hp for the first 3-liter version to 680 hp for the latest S variant powered by two variable-geometry turbos. A power which brings it closer to that of the 935 K3 victorious in the Sarthe in 1979. A challenge for a vehicle whose cantilevered engine architecture seemed to condemn it in the long term. Not only have the engineers succeeded in demonstrating that this was not the case, but over time, the Turbo has continued to improve, becoming more and more tame. The hypertrophy of its silhouette – the body widens 45 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear while the adaptive spoiler increases in surface area – will make some purists squeak more than ever, but it was necessary to go through there to ensure perfect control of the ground connections.

Porsche

As such, a Turbo has never seemed so easy to drive. This grand touring coupe seems to be stuck on rails. This is even truer with the PASM controlled damping including a sport chassis lowered by 10 mm, at the cost of some discomfort on degraded pavement. Behind the wheel of the Turbo S, what fascinates is its unparalleled consistency, and the extent of its repertoire. The Turbo is able to move through traffic without flinching and in the next instant, catapult you into another dimension with a simple push on the accelerator.

Porsche

If unsurprisingly, the performances border on excellence, the times are those of a missile: it only takes 1.6 seconds to go from 80 to 120 km / h. From the latest 911 type 992, it inherits the best: the comfort equipment of a sedan and the digital instrumentation resting on a curved tablet. The essential is preserved: in the middle of the two customizable screens sits a huge analog tachometer reminiscent of the first 911. Nostalgia when you hold us!
