Former NFL offensive guard Tre’ Johnson has died at the age of 54, the Washington Commanders announced on Sunday.

“We’re heartbroken to learn of the loss of former Washington All-Pro guard Tre’ Johnson. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones,” the team wrote on X.

Johnson’s wife, Irene, said in a post to Facebook on Sunday that the football player died “suddenly and unexpectedly” during a family trip. She said his family and friends are “devastated and in shock.”
