Triumph and MotoGP Fuel the Future: Sustainable Racing and Fan Engagement

The world of MotoGP is revving up for another exciting season, but the action extends beyond the track. Triumph Motorcycles and MotoGP have unveiled exciting developments for 2026, focusing on enhanced fan engagement through the Triumph Triple Trophy and a commitment to sustainable racing with advanced fuel testing.

Exclusive Prize Bikes and the Triumph Triple Trophy

On the eve of the 2026 MotoGP season opener in Thailand, Triumph revealed two exclusive Limited Edition prize bikes for the Triumph Triple Trophy competition. The #001 Triumph Street Triple 765 Moto2™ Edition will be awarded to the Moto2 rider with the most standout performances, as determined by fan votes. A second, #765 model will be given away in a free prize draw to a lucky Triumph and Moto2™ fan.

These aren’t just any motorcycles. Limited to a global production run of 1,000 units, the Moto2™ Edition boasts carbon fibre components and a uniquely numbered, personalised billet-machined top yoke, making them highly collectible.

Fan Power: How the Triumph Triple Trophy Works

The Triumph Triple Trophy isn’t just about on-track performance; it’s about connecting fans directly to the racing action. Each Grand Prix weekend, a judging panel selects three Moto2 riders for their standout performances. Fans then vote for their favourite rider via the official MotoGP™ Instagram channel.

Points are awarded based on fan votes: 7 points for the most votes, 6 for second place, and 5 for third. The leaderboard is updated after each round, building anticipation throughout the season. Fans can also enter a free prize draw via the Triumph Motorcycles website for a chance to win a motorcycle.

Previous winners of the Triumph Triple Trophy include Marco Bezzecchi (2020), Raul Fernandez (2021), Jeremy Alcoba (2022), Pedro Acosta (2023), Ai Ogura (2024) and Diogo Moreira (2025).

Triumph’s Push for Sustainable Fuels

Beyond the excitement of the competition, Triumph is actively working towards a more sustainable future for motorcycling. Following successful durability testing of 40% non-fossil fuels in the previous year, Triumph will test samples of 100% non-fossil fuels in Moto2 engines throughout 2026. This is in preparation for the 2027 Moto2 season, which will mandate the employ of 100% non-fossil fuels.

Steve Sargent, Triumph’s Chief Product Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment: “Alongside improving performance, we are also committed to supporting the development of a sustainable future for motorcycling and motorcycle sport.”

The Evolution of the Triumph 765cc Engine

Triumph has been the exclusive engine supplier to the FIM Moto2™ World Championship since 2019. The 765cc triple engine delivers over 140PS, a 17% increase compared to the production bike. For the 2025 season, Triumph launched a new full race gearbox, representing the biggest change since becoming the exclusive engine supplier.

Moto2™ and the Future of Racing

Alfonso Cartujo, MotoGP Sporting Director, highlighted the importance of fan engagement, stating, “The Triumph Triple Trophy is a great way to connect with fans around the world and it makes sure they feel part of the competition.”
