Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 10th Annual NYC Climb: A Decade of Remembrance and Support

Registration is now open for the 10th Tunnel to Towers Foundation Tower Climb NYC, taking place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at One World Trade Center. This year’s event holds particular significance as America marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Scaling New Heights for a Noble Cause

The Tower Climb challenges participants to ascend 104 floors – a total of 2,226 steps – symbolizing the strength and resilience of the American spirit. The climb commemorates the lives and sacrifices of all 9/11 heroes, including FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller and FDNY Captain Billy Burke Jr.

“The Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb is more than just a physical challenge. We see a powerful act of remembrance,” said Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. “Holding the 10th Climb in 2026, just months ahead of the 25th anniversary of September 11th, reminds us that while time has passed, America’s promise to ‘Never Forget’ remains stronger than ever.”

Beyond the Climb: A Commitment to America’s Heroes

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s impact extends far beyond this annual event. The organization is dedicated to supporting first responders, veterans, and the families of those who have lost their lives in service to our nation.

The Foundation provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children. To date, they have delivered over 1,700 homes and committed over $1 billion to their programs. In 2026, in honor of the 343 FDNY heroes lost on 9/11, the Foundation is committed to delivering 343 mortgage-free homes to America’s heroes.

The Captain Billy Burke Jr. Foundation, too supported by the Tower Climb, provides tuition assistance at SUNY Potsdam for the children of New York City firefighters.

A Quarter-Century of Remembrance and Ongoing Support

As the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is undertaking its most comprehensive commemoration yet. This includes honoring the past, serving those in necessitate today, and educating future generations about the events of that day and the sacrifices made by so many.

Did you know? Stephen Siller, after finishing his shift, raced through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers on 9/11, carrying 60 pounds of gear, and ultimately sacrificed his life in the effort to save others.
