Latest Hyde Park, NY – The 44th Annual Long Island Handball Championships concluded on March 15, 2026, at LA Fitness, showcasing a high level of competition and celebrating 35 years of the Inner City Handball Association’s (ICHA) commitment to youth development through the sport.

Bastidas Claims Men’s Open Singles Title

Tyree Bastidas emerged victorious in the Men’s Open Singles, navigating a 24-player field without dropping a single game. Bastidas defeated Alvaro Rebaza in the quarterfinals and Mike Schneider in the semifinals, both in two games. The final saw a challenging match against Jack Wu, a rising star in the Northeast handball scene.

The final between Bastidas and Wu was a display of skill and endurance, featuring numerous side-outs and grueling rallies.
