Meta Quest 3S Refurbished Headset Discounted to $255.99 on eBay
Virtual reality buyers can secure Meta’s entry-level Quest 3S headset in certified refurbished condition for $255.99 directly through Meta’s eBay storefront, as reported by The Verge. The discount requires shoppers to apply the coupon code SAVE20TECH before the promotion expires on November 8th. By comparison, the standalone device recently retailed for $349.99, while dropping to $300 in new condition during Amazon’s fall Prime Day event.
According to eBay, manufacturer inspections and professional cleaning ensure the certified hardware arrives in “like-new” condition. The package includes either original or newly manufactured accessories, such as a power adapter, a glasses spacer, and wrist straps. Buyers also receive a two-year Allstate warranty alongside the hardware.
The Quest 3S bridges the performance gap between older and newer models in Meta’s hardware lineup. The device runs on the same speedy Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip found in the pricier Quest 3, granting access to the exact same library of games. It also utilizes identical cameras for full-color passthrough, enabling users to interact with their physical environment while wearing the headset. Users move through the system using Meta’s Touch Plus controllers or direct hand-tracking for select apps, and the standalone design eliminates the need for a tethered PC or gaming console.
Visual performance reflects its lower price point, as display resolution and optics lean closer to the older Quest 2. While the image quality remains functional, visuals appear narrower and less sharp than the standard Quest 3. Reviewers note that these specific trade-offs are easy to overlook given the lower cost, particularly for first-time virtual reality users.
