UIC Flames Prepare for MVC Showdown with UNI Panthers
The UIC Flames women’s basketball team (14-14, 9-8 MVC) travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Saturday, February 28th, to face the UNI Panthers (14-13, 10-7 MVC) at the McLeod Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT).

The Flames are coming off a 66-53 victory over Bradley on Thursday, February 27th, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 4,845 fans. Senior Jessica Carrothers led all scorers with 18 points, six assists, four steals, and four rebounds, continuing her impressive season as UIC’s leading scorer in 13 games.
Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman secured her team-leading seventh double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore TuTu Clayton also contributed 13 points, sinking three three-pointers. Graduate student Sara Zabrecky now ranks eighth all-time in program history with 129 made three-pointers, surpassing Sara Petersen.
UNI Scouting Report
This will be the 24th meeting between UIC and UNI, with the Panthers holding a 17-6 advantage in the series. Earlier this season in MVC play, the Flames narrowly lost to UNI, 75-74, with Carrothers leading UIC with 18 points.
UNI enters the contest after defeating Valparaiso 92-54 on Thursday night. Sophomore Elise Jaeger led the Panthers with a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Senior Ryley Goebel continues to be a key player for UNI, averaging 14.4 points per game and leading the MVC in blocks with 2.7 per game.
