PHOENIX, Ariz. – The University of Hawai’i women’s golf team demonstrated resilience on Tuesday at the PING ASU Invitational, improving their score by five strokes in the second round. The team is currently in 15th place at the tournament, hosted at the par-72 Papago Golf Club.
Kraus and Wong Lead the Way for Hawai’i
Maline Kraus and Jasmine Wong are leading the Rainbow Wahine, both carding a 2-over 74 and a 3-over 75 respectively on Tuesday. They are tied for 49th place overall with a two-round total of 149 (+5). Emiko Sverduk shot a 4-over 76, bringing her total to 155 (+11) and placing her in a tie for 72nd. Kaydence Kim and Sofina Firouzi are tied for 83rd at 159 (+15) after shooting 79 and 78 respectively.
Southern California Dominates the Leaderboard
Southern California is currently leading the team standings with an impressive 24-under-par total of 552. Catherine Park of USC is the individual leader after firing a 6-under 66 on Tuesday, putting her at 10-under-par (134) for the tournament. She holds a four-stroke advantage over Elise Lee (USC) and Arizona State’s Pimpisa Rubrong, who are tied for second place.

The PING ASU Invitational is in its 53rd edition and is known for attracting a strong field of teams, representing some of the toughest competition in women’s collegiate golf.
