Girl, 11, Hurt by Rebounding Pellet from Air Gun During New Year Celebration
An 11-year-old girl from the village of Konstantinovo in Simeonovgrad was injured during New Year festivities when a pellet from an air gun ricocheted and struck her in the head. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m.
A 49-year-old man from the village fired the air gun at a waste container, but the pellet rebounded and hit the girl. She was examined and released for home care with no threat to her life.
The air gun was legally purchased with a receipt, but it hadn’t been registered with the local police. The shooter tested negative for alcohol, and the weapon was handed over to police with an official record. The offender was detained and a violation report under the Arms and Ammunition Control Law was initiated.
