Salaspils Welcomes 127 New Residents in 2024

Salaspils district’s Civil Registry Office has recorded 127 newborns in 2024, according to local government statistics. The gender distribution shows 63 boys and 64 girls.

First-time parents welcomed 56 babies, while 49 families celebrated their second child. Nineteen families grew with their third child, seven with their fourth, and two families expanded with their fifth child.

Popular girls’ names in Salaspils last year were Emīlija, Emma, and Enija, while the most popular boys’ names were Adrians, Alekss, and Daniels. Uniquely, a girl named Zora and boys named Rio and Stellans were also welcomed.

Contrarily, 217 residents passed away, and 160 marriages were registered, with 25 conducted outside the registry office and six in a church. A total of 205 individuals tied the knot, with the oldest groom being born in 1949 and the oldest bride in 1954. The youngest couple was both born in 2005.

Salaspils also saw international couples marry, with residents from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Estonia, the UK, Mexico, India, Germany, the US, and Uzbekistan all tying the knot in the district. Additionally, 20 surname changes and one name change were registered.
