The Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore has finalized the 2027 school calendar, setting the start of the academic year for kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools on January 4, with an end date of November 19, according to a July 14 announcement. Primary 1 and Kindergarten 1 students will begin classes on January 4, while Kindergarten 2 and Primary 2–6 students start a day later on January 5. Schools hosting the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education (SEC) examinations will conclude their final term earlier on October 29.

Junior colleges (JCs) and the Millennia Institute (MI) will see first-year students starting on February 3, with older students beginning classes on January 11. The calendar includes three major holiday periods: March 13–21, May 29–June 27, and September 4–12. Year-end breaks for primary and secondary schools begin November 20, while JC and MI students not taking GCE A-Level exams will start their break on November 27, with those taking the exams receiving their vacation after assessments conclude.

School Holidays and Special Dates

MOE has scheduled four additional holidays in 2027: Youth Day on July 4 (observed on July 5 due to a weekend), the Day After National Day on August 10, Teachers’ Day on September 3, and Children’s Day on October 8, limited to primary schools and primary sections of full schools.
