According to the official municipal program, daily events kick off at 17:30 with vibrant street parades along the Main Street, traveling from Levski House to Stefan Stambolov Square. At 18:00, troupes perform short concerts on the outdoor stage directly in front of the Plovdiv Municipality building. Evening spectacles follow at 20:00 on the stage of the Ancient Theatre.

The milestone edition opens on Monday, July 27, with a grand opening concert featuring all visiting delegations—Georgia, Mexico, Peru, Romania, and Montenegro—alongside host formation Folklore Ensemble “Trakia”. Tuesday, July 28, highlights world rhythms with performances from the international troupes. On Wednesday, July 29, Folklore Ensemble “Trakia” delivers a standalone concert in Plovdiv, while delegations from Georgia, Mexico, and Romania travel for concurrent guest performances in Peshtera.
Thursday, July 30, shifts the Ancient Theatre spotlight to the international ensembles from Georgia, Mexico, and Romania, while Peruvian and Montenegrin artists perform in Peshtera. The festival concludes on Friday, July 31, with a star-lit Gala concert uniting all participating international and domestic companies.
Global Ensembles Bringing Traditions to the Stage
Audiences will see diverse global traditions, according to the official participant roster. Mexico sends the Folklore Ballet "Ateneo Fuente", current world champions with 40 years of history and southern energy. Peru’s Folklore Ballet "Ritmos del Tiempo" (Golden Company) fields 57 artists charting an itinerary from the Pacific coast, through the Andes, to the Amazon jungle. Romania’s professional ensemble "Busuiocul" from Bacău brings over half a century of tradition presented with youth spirit and authentic vocals. Montenegro’s Folklore Ensemble "Zahumlje" from Nikšić represents one of the Balkans' oldest cultural institutions, established in 1898. Bulgaria is anchored by the host Folklore Ensemble "Trakia", led by chief artistic director Prof. Daniela Djeneva.
