National Pass Rates and Exam Statistics for 2025/2026
Mohamed Abdel-Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, approved the first-term results for the 2025/2026 academic year. The new system recorded an overall pass rate of 75.1%, while the old system yielded a pass rate of 72.1%.
For the new system, a total of 883,690 students applied for the first-term exams. Out of 825,867 attending students, 620,314 passed.
The new system’s scientific science branch saw 543,120 applicants, with 507,415 attendees and 382,720 successful students, reaching a 75.4% pass rate. In the new scientific mathematics branch, 145,459 students applied, 139,302 attended, and 113,651 passed, resulting in an 81.6% pass rate. Meanwhile, the literary branch under the new system had 195,111 applicants, 179,150 attendees, and 123,943 passes, totaling a 69.2% pass rate.
Under the old system, 4,172 students applied, 3,620 attended, and 2,610 passed. The old scientific science branch recorded 2,506 applicants, 2,118 attendees, and 1,578 passes for a 74.5% pass rate. The old scientific mathematics branch drew 513 applicants, 427 attendees, and 307 passes, marking a 71.9% pass rate. Finally, the old literary branch registered 1,153 applicants, 1,075 attendees, and 725 passes, achieving a 67.4% pass rate.

Zidan stated that earning a spot among the top students nationwide came as an unexpected shock. “I didn’t expect to be among the top students, and when I found out, I was shocked, and I couldn’t contain my joy,” Zidan said in statements.
His academic journey relied on steady time management from the beginning of the school year without excessive pressure. He increased his study rate as exams approached, explaining that he organized his schedule early on and intensified his efforts closer to test dates.
Zidan credited his parents as his primary support system throughout the academic year. He also acknowledged the vital role played by his friends who shared continuous encouragement, dedicating his success to both his family and peers.
