Title: Police Seize Millions in Cash from Arrestees in Dr. Aulia Risma Lestari Bullying Case
SEMARANG – Central Java Provincial Police (Polda Jateng) has seized millions in cash from three suspects arrested in connection with the bullying case that resulted in the death of Dr. Aulia Risma Lestari. The trio, believed to have been extorting money under the guise of non-academic operational funds (BOP), has been named suspects in the case.
The investigation, led by Polda Jateng’s Public Relations Chief Kombes Pol Artanto, resulted in the seizure of approximately IDR 97 million in cash. A total of 36 witnesses have been interviewed so far. "We have already inspected the evidence and identified three suspects," Kombes Pol Artanto confirmed at Polda Jateng headquarters in Semarang on Tuesday (24 December 2024).
The three suspects are:

Dr. Taufik Eko Nugroho, the Head of the Specialty doctor training program (PPDS) in Anesthesiology at the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of the University Diponegoro (Undip). Nugroho allegedly exploited his seniority to demand unregulated BOP payments for personal gain.
- Sri Maryani, currently serving as the Medical Chief of Staff at PPDS Anesthesiology, FK Undip. Maryani is accused of actively participating in collecting these unregulated BOP funds.
The victim, Dr. Aulia Risma, was a PPDS Anesthesiology student at FK Undip. Her untimely death earlier this year sparked outrage and highlighted systematic issues within the university’s medical program.
While the investigation continues, the seized cash is expected to serve as critical evidence in the prosecution’s case against the three suspects. The public is urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with the authorities to ensure justice prevails in this tragic matter.
