Breaking: Indonesian Police Confirm Some Names in DWP Pemerasan Case, Investigation Ongoing
Jakartan police have confirmed that some of the names circulating on social media, alleged to be involved in the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) 2024 ‘pemerasan’ (harassment) case, are indeed suspects. However, they have yet to officially identify all the individuals involved.
Direktorat Profesi dan Pengamanan (Propam) Polri Chief, Irjen Abdul Karim, opened up about the case, stating that a list of 12 police officers from Metro Jaya and Jakarta Pusat is being investigated. Among them are senior figures like AKBP Malvino Edward Y, director of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit, and Kompol Jamalinus, head of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit in Jakarta Pusat.
Karim confirmed that some of the names on the list are indeed suspected of involvement, but he did not specify who. He also mentioned that evidence worth IDR 2.5 billion has been confiscated, and the perpetrators have been placed in a special training program.
Despite previous reports suggesting that the perpetrators were coordinated, Karim stated that they are still investigating the motive behind the ‘pemerasan’. He added that the investigation is ongoing to understand the role of each individual from different stations (Polsek), regions (Polres), and provincial divisions (Polda).
"Please understand, we are still in the process of gathering evidence," said Karim, who acknowledged that they are investigating on a marathon basis to uncover all details. "We are still looking into the roles of each individual from Polsek, Polres, and Polda."
The DWP 2024 ‘pemerasan’ case has sparked outrage among حصان كامل Malaysian attendees, with 45 individuals reported to be victims. The case is still under investigation, and the police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
