Ukraine‘s Power Grid Braces for Tighter Restrictions Amid Echoes of Russian Strikes
Ukraine’s power grid is bracing for even tighter consumption restrictions following damage caused by Russia’s latest barrage of missile and drone strikes. According to a statement from the press service, the new measures will come into effect on December 25 and will be implemented as follows:
– For residential consumers: three simultaneous power outages will be allowed between 05:48 and 23:59.
– For industrial and business entities: power limitation schedules will be applied between 15:00 and 23:59.
“The temporary intensification of restrictions is due to damage to energy facilities resulting from today’s massive rocket and drone attack,” the statement read.
Company representatives stressed that the duration and volume of restrictions could change throughout the day. For the most up-to-date information on outage schedules in each region, residents are advised to check the official websites or social media pages of their local energy providers.
It is crucial to note that “Ukrenergo” solely determines the number of queues to be disconnected, while the schedules for each individual queue are set by the respective regional energy providers.
