Two emergency services teams, including firefighters and police, rushed to the scene of a head-on collision on the Smolyan-Pamporovo road, near the "St. Pantaleimon" monastery, according to a report by the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR). The incident occurred around 15:40 hours and caused significant disruptions to traffic in the area.
Initial reports indicate that there were trapped occupants in the vehicles involved. However, all occupants were successfully extricated from the vehicles later on. At the current stage, there is no information about any serious injuries, as informed by the director of the Regional Fire Safety and Population Protection Service in Smolyan, Senior Commissioner Chavdar Kichukov.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the area, as traffic is expected to be slow and congested due to the incident. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
This incident follows a similar incident that occurred on the road between Veliko Tarnovo and Pavlikeni, where two people were injured in a head-on collision.
