The Veiligheidsregio Utrecht (VRU) spokesperson confirmed that residents were temporarily relocated to the homes of family and friends.
The incident occurred when a sinkhole appeared, raising concerns about water infiltrating the gas line. Such an occurrence can lead to power outages and damage to appliances, including gas meters.
