Armed Police Deployment in Tromsø: A Statistical Overview

Title: False Alarm: Drunk Man Reports Knife Threat,Misuses Emergency Services

:A clock strike 01:30 on the second night of Christmas, Troms police received a distressing call. A person claimed to be threatened with a knife at a private residence in Tromsø, also reporting injuries.

Swiftly, armed police and ambulances rushed to the scene, anticipating a grave situation. However, upon arrival, they quickly determined the severity of the call was overstated.

"When we arrived, we got in touch with someone connected to the person who made the call, allowing us to enter their dwelling and clarify that it was a false alarm," explained Operations Leader Robin Åsheim Lindberg to Nettavisen.

The person in the residence was described as highly intoxicated and was cared for by their family. The police took the incident seriously and opened a case for false alarm.

"This is not how it’s done. We emptied the city of all patrols, hooked up with the ambulance, and went out armed. There’s a reason we opened a case. It’s not right to do this," said the operations leader, adding, "We don’t want such calls. It can come at the expense of others."
