Breaking: Body Found in Wheel Well of United Airlines Flight from Chicago to Maui
A United Airlines spokesperson confirmed that a body was discovered in the wheel well of a United Airlines flight that departed from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Christmas Eve.
Flight UA202, a Boeing 777, took off from Chicago at approximately 9:31 AM CT and landed at Kahului Airport, the main airport serving Maui, Hawaii, at around 2:12 PM local time, according to flight tracking website FlightAware.
Upon arrival, a body was found in the wheel well of one of the aircraft’s main landing gear, the airline spokesperson said. Hawaii News Now, the Honolulu NBC affiliate, reported that the body belonged to an unidentified man.
Maui police revealed to the station that they are currently conducting an active investigation regarding the deceased individual found on the incoming flight from the mainland.
United Airlines stated that they are assisting authorities in their investigation. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
