Bulgaria to Experience Mild Weather this Weekend; New Year’s Eve to be Clear and Cold
Bulgaria is set to enjoy a mild weekend with expected temperatures reaching nearly 15°C in some areas. On Sunday, fog is forecast in some low-lying regions of the country, with clouds expected to dissipate over Western and Central Bulgaria by evening. The coast and adjacent areas will remain overcast, with a noticeable northerly wind. Daytime temperatures will range from 1°C to 6-7°C, while nighttime temperatures on the higher reaches of the mountains will dip to -6°C.
The first week of the new year brings warmer air from the west, with predominantly sunny conditions expected from Monday to Friday. The last two days of 2024 may start with frosts, temperatures dropping to -5°C to -6°C, but will warm up to between 8°C and 13°C during the day.
New Year’s Eve Forecast: Clear and Cold
As Bulgaria rings in 2025, clear skies and temperatures ranging from 3°C to -3°C are in the cards. From January 1 to 5, daytime temperatures are expected to reach up to 13-14°C. However, a chilier trend emerges around Epiphany, with a cold front bringing rain and snow in the mountains. Temperatures will then revert to typical January levels.
Early forecasts suggest a significant cold spell from January 9 to 12, with morning temperatures possibly dropping to -8°C to -10°C. Snowfall is also a possibility during this period.
