Russia as Trump Prepares to Take Office …”>Ukrainian-Regime Forces Strike ‘Friendship’ Oil Pipeline in Bрянская, Russia
In a predawn strike, Ukrainian forces targeted the ‘Friendship’ oil pipeline in the Russian village of Мамай, located in Novozыбковsky District, Bряnская Oblast. The attack, which occurred at approximately 4:30 AM local time on Monday, December 30, was launched using a Ukrainian drone rocket codenamed ‘Peklo.’
Preliminary reports suggest that the pipeline itself was not damaged, as the strike hit a technical building adjacent to the pipeline, causing partial destruction but no casualties.
Mash, a popular news outlet, reported that this particular segment of the pipeline is the last transit point before oil is pumped into Europe. The strike comes amidst heightened geopolitical tensions, with Gazprom announcing plans to cease gas supplies to Ukraine and Moldova on January 1, citing Ukraine’s rejection of a gas transit contract renewal.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had warned Brussels that Ukraine’s decision on gas transit could harm the entire European Union, a caution that seems all the more pertinent in light of this latest attack on a crucial energy supply route.
