Early Wednesday, Israeli police conducted an extensive operation at the prime minister’s official residence in Jerusalem, focusing on a corruption case involving Netanyahu and his wife. The raid was part of "Case 4000," one of several ongoing corruption probes against the prime minister.
Netanyahu, who is fighting for his political life amid these investigations, slammed the raid as " elezioni nuove " (new elections), alleging that law enforcement is trying to target him politically. His Likud party has since called for a vote of no confidence in the attorney general and the head of the Israel Police, citing bias against Netanyahu.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, was hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 upon returning from a family vacation in the United States. Her symptoms are said to be mild, and she is expected to make a full recovery. Netanyahu’s office stated that the prime minister has tested negative for the virus and is currently in isolation.
