Breaking News: Fatal Shooting Incident on Tangerang-Merak Toll Road
In a shocking turn of events, a shooting incident occurred at Rest Area KM 45 on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road in the early hours of Thursday (2/1). One person lost their life, and another was severely injured in the wake of this tragedy.
The deceased has been identified as Mr. RM, while the injured victim is Mr. IS. Mr. IS was rushed to the RSCM Hospital in Jakarta for immediate, intensive care. The incident began when witnesses reported multiple vehicles racing and stopping at the KM 45 Rest Area near an Indomaret.
Arif N. Yusuf, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Tangerang Police, confirmed the incident and revealed that five bullets were fired from a minibus, fatally striking Mr. RM in the chest and injuring Mr. IS in the hand and arm. The motive behind this brutal attack is currently under investigation, with police suspecting it may be connected to a business dispute related to car rentals.
A witness, AM, provided additional insight, stating that the incident seemed to be an aftermath of a suspected case of misusing a rental car belonging to their family. The perpetrator allegedly used a GPS to track the vehicle to Pandeglang before initiating the chase and targeting the victims.
Police have recovered essential evidence, including five .9mm Luger casing and a suspect’s getaway vehicle – a Honda Brio in bright orange. Authorities are actively pursuing the suspect and have vowed to apprehend them as soon as possible.
