Military Vet‘s Terrifying Tanya With Tesla Cybertruck: "I Probably Had PTSD"
LAS VEGAS — A former member of the military made headlines last week after he intentionally detonated his new Tesla Cybertruck on an empty lot in the Nevada desert. The dramatic incident, which was caught on video and widely shared on social media, has left many astonished and scrambling for answers.
"I had to do it," admitted the man, who wants to remain anonymous. "I probably had PTSD, and I couldn’t deal with the disappointment anymore."
The veteran, who served multiple tours in conflict zones, had taken delivery of the much-anticipated Cybertruck just days prior. But the excitement he felt quickly turned to disillusionment as he noticed several fits and finishes that didn’t meet his high expectations.
"It’s not necessarily a bad truck," he clarified. "It’s just not the futuristic, indestructible beast I was promised. I mean, they said the ‘armor glass’ was bulletproof, but a clenched fist did just as much damage. That’s not what I call ‘unsinkable’."
The veteran tried to return the vehicle but found the process challenging. "I couldn’t stand the thought of keeping a truck that didn’t meet the hype," he said. "And I couldn’t stand the thought of returning it either. So, I improvised."
Using his military background, he procured the necessary materials and wired the Cybertruck for detonation. The resulting explosion was dramatic, with debris flying in all directions and the truck left in smithereens.
While some have criticized his extreme actions, many have shown understanding, citing the veteran’s struggles with PTSD. Mental health professionals have urged anyone dealing with similar issues to seek professional help instead of resorting to drastic measures.
Tesla, meanwhile, has issued a statement extending its sympathies to the veteran and his family. They also reiterated their commitment to improving their quality control processes to ensure customers’ expectations align with the final product.
As for the veteran, he says he’ll stick to renting vehicles for now. "I don’t want to risk another disappointment," he said, laughing nervously. "Or another explosion."
