A powerful explosion rocked an Odessa high-rise apartment building on January 3, leading to a significant fire that left locals shocked. The cause? A seemingly innocuous power bank, a portable charging device, which detonated in one of the flats.
The Blast and Its Aftermath
The incident occurred on the sixth floor of a nine-story building, tearing apart the apartment’s entrance door, window frames, and even the balcony windows. Although no one was injured, the blast left a trail of extensive damage.
Emergency services swiftly extinguished the blaze, but the cause of the incident remains under investigation. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine’s Telegram channel, the power bank exploded in the apartment’s bathroom.
