In the video, filmed at the Multi-Profile Active Bolnitsa "Dr. Ivan Selniminski" in Sliven, an obstetrician named Яна ("Yana") and a healthcare assistant can be seen dancing with tiny newborns cradled in their arms, oblivious to the infants’ delicate state. The video has since been removed from the Nurses’ social media profiles.
Yana, who has been a nurse for three years, told Nova Television that the video was uploaded without her consent. She expressed remorse for the incident, stating, "I love my job. I care for the children I help deliver, and I take my responsibilities seriously."
However, parents whose children are featured in the video have been outraged. Катя ("Katia"), grandmother to one of the babies seen in the clip, condemned the nurses’ behavior. "To use a 3-kilogram newborn as a party prop is unacceptable. I’m appalled. We will seek legal action because no one asked for our permission," she said.
The head of the neonatal department, Dr. Таня Праматарова ("Dr. Tanya Pramaturova"), strongly condemned the incident, saying, "This video is a clear violation of our professional standards. Such behavior is inexcusable and has no place in our department."
