BREAKING: Five High-Ranking Army Officers Join KSAD as Special Staff in January 2025 Mutiny

JAKARTA – The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) kicked off 2025 with a significant shuffle in its ranks. Out of 62 high-ranking officers (Pati) in the Army (TNI AD) who have been reassigned, five have been appointed as special staff to the Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD), General Maruli Simanjuntak.

This recent TNI AD mutiny, as outlined in the Panglima Tentara Nasional Indonesia’s (Pangma TNI) official letter, details the reassignment of over a hundred officers, including 62 from the TNI AD, 8 from the Naval Force (TNI AL), and 31 from the Air Force (TNI AU).

The reshuffle was confirmed by the Commander of the Army (Kapuspen TNI) Major General Hariyanto, who revealed, "We have officially approved the rotation and reassignment of 101 high-ranking TNI officers, comprising 62 from the TNI AD, 8 from the TNI AL, and 31 from the TNI AU."

Five of the reassigned TNI AD officers have been handpicked to serve as special staff to the KSAD. Wondering who these officers are? Here’s a list of the appointed officers:

  1. Major General TNI Lukmansyah, M.Tr.(Han): Reassigned from the Deputy for Disaster Management Handled by the BNPB (Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana) to become a special staff to the KSAD.
  2. Brigadier General TNI Jala Argananto, M.A., M.Sc: Reassigned from the Director of the Training and Education Bureau (Dirsen Pussenkav) to become a special staff to the KSAD.

The reassignment process, marked by Surat Keputusan Panglima Tentara Nasional Indonesia (Kep/7/I/2025) on January 3, 2025, reflects the TNI’s ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its high-ranking officers. This mutiny is set to bring new perspectives and leadership dynamics to the KSAD and the wider TNI community.
