Political Storm Erupts Over Alleged "Kirchnerista" Businessman Protective List
A controversial list leaked by AFIP during the Kirchner era has sparked a heated debate, with Santiago Caputo, a prominent figure on social media, lambasting the PRO party and Maria Eugenia Talerico, a key official in the organization during Mauricio Macri‘s presidency. Caputo, active on X with a verified account, questioned Talerico’s role in the unit, insinuating that she was protecting Kirchner-era businessmen.
The list, published by Clarín, has ignited a firestorm of criticism. Caputo took to his X account to challenge Talerico, who was the vice-presidential nominee for the UIF during the Macri administration. "Since the PRO party, we’ve never covered up for the Kirchners. We’ve exposed all their corrupt activities and reported them to the justice system. From AFIP, everything was reported; there was no pact of impunity."
Caputo doubled down, urging Talerico to identify herself by name and take responsibility. "If you’re a man, come out with your real name," he tweeted. "I was the number two at AFIP under @mauriciomacri, and I say that with pride, having always acted with integrity."
Talerico, now a member of the National Council of the Magistracy, swiftly responded. "Santiago Caputo, your ignorance is alarming. You’ve been badly advised by the Kirchneristas you’re making deals with for CFK‘s impunity. I was the Vice President of the UIF, and I had nothing to do with AFIP."
The latest development comes as the Milei administration alleges an AFIP network to safeguard Kirchners’ business allies, hampering access to crucial information. The list contains 51 companies, business entities, or individuals supposedly added to the protected list within the tax agency’s database.
As the political storm rages on, both sides dig in their heels, each refusing to back down. Caputo insists on transparency, while Talerico maintains her innocence. The article has received widespread attention, fueling speculation and debate among the public and the political establishment.
