Controversy Reignites Over Shift in Funds Meant for Agus Salim‘s Recovery
The debate surrounding the diversion of leftover funds from donations intended for Agus Salim’s recovery has resurfaced, this time pitting Agus against key decision-makers, Pratiwi Noviyanthi and Denny Sumargo.
Initially surpassed at the decision, Agus Salimfee revealed his deep disappointment. "I was lead to believe things would unfold differently," he said, referring to the initial plan to use the funds – totaling over IDR 1.3 billion – for his rehabilitation after a severe water jet injury.
However, a recent announcement has suggested a change in plans. A portion of the collected funds is now set to be redirected to aid victims of a natural disaster in Lewotobi, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). This decision was reported to have been reached through discussions with donors, as seen in a YouTube video by Denny Sumargo on Friday, January 3, 2025.

While Pratiwi Noviyanthi, the fundraiser, and Garry Julian, the newly appointed chairman of Yayasan Rumah Peduli Kemanusiaan, have steadfastly explained the decision, critics like Agus maintain it was an about-face from the original agreement.
