President Prabowo’s Free Nutritious Meal Program Kicks Off in Palembang Schools

PALEMBANG, Jan 8 — Five schools in Palembang, including the School District Filial of the Special Agency for Class I Children (LPKA) under the Palembang Special Agency, have begun receiving meals under President Prabowo Subianto‘s Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis) program. The initiative, launched on Monday, Jan 6, aims to provide balanced nutrition to Indonesian students.
The program’s first beneficiaries include TK Panca Bakti 1, SD Negeri 24, SD Negeri 25, SMP Negeri 19, SMP Negeri 33, and the School District Filial LPKA under SD Negeri 25 Palembang. The meals are provided by the program’s supplier for Ilir Barat I District, Pakjo, and are set to be delivered and served to students every Monday through Thursday starting at 9:30 AM.
DMN 418-02/Pakjo, the program’s representative, emphasized that the Free Nutritious Meal program is a presidential initiative aiming to improve the nutritional intake of Indonesian children. The headmaster of SD Negeri 25 Palembang, Wiwin Purwanti, expressed her gratitude for the program’s inclusion of students from the School District Filial LPKA under her school.
Albert Hariyadi, head of the LPKA’s Palembang branch, welcomed the program’s launch. He conveyed his gratitude to the government and the headmaster of SD Negeri 25 Palembang for caring for the students of the School District Filial LPKA. Hariyadi hopes that this program will enhance the students’ nutrition, fostering a healthier future generation that can contribute positively to the country’s progress.
