Man Arrested for Allegedly Poisoning Wedding Food in Maharashtra

Mumbai: A man has been arrested after allegedly poisoning food served at a wedding ceremony in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The incident occurred at a wedding function held in Utare village, where the November bride’s aunt held the event.

Mahesh Pateel, the bride’s uncle, is the primary suspect. He was reportedly upset over the bride eloping with her lover and marrying him instead, thus ruining the planned wedding. In a fit of rage, he allegedly slipped poison into the wedding feast, targeting the unsuspecting guests.

Eyewitnesses noticed Pateel tampering with the food and raised an alarm, but he managed to escape before being apprehended. No one consumed the poisoned food before it was discovered, and police have sent samples to the laboratory for testing. A case has been registered against Pateel, and police are actively searching for him.
