Pirate Pizza Promises Sour Grapes for Rebaz
Local pizza enthusiast, Sidi Rebaz, was left with a bitter taste in his mouth after a weekend-long wait for what he expected would be a scrumptious, now-infamous ‘sea’-soned pizza. Instead, he found not a morsel, but a myriad of excuses.
The province’s most talked-about culinary letdown began when Rebaz placed an order with Premier Pizza, hoping to indulge in their newly-launched, swashbuckling-inspired ‘Treasure Seas’ pizza. Little did he know, his journey to gustatory delight would become a voyage into the doldrums.
Rebaz recounts his disappointment, "I’ve been waiting for this weekend all week. I took time off, planned my entire weekend around it. They promised me a taste of the high seas, but all I got was a weekend of empty stomach and dashed expectations."
The ‘Treasure Seas’ pizza, as promoted, should’ve been a Captain’s dream—laden with exotic ingredients like ‘crabby’ shrimp, ‘moonlit’ mushrooms, and ‘sunken’ sundried tomatoes, all swimming in a sea of garlic and Parmesan. But where Rebaz expected a culinary adventure, he found nothing but a stale crust and the faint, lingering scent of promise.
Premier Pizza, in a statement, cited a series of mysterious ‘storms’ and ‘mutinies’ as reasons for their inability to deliver. "We had our best chef, Blackheart Johnny, working on it. But alas, the seas were rough, and the crew mutinied, claiming they were ‘lost at sea’ over a misunderstanding about the recipe," they explained, adding that they were "as casualty-ridden as Rebaz himself."
Rebaz isn’t buying the excuses, though. "I’ve been following them on social media. They’ve been posting beautiful, mouth-watering pictures of their new pizzas all week. If they could make it for everyone else, why not for me?"
Despite the setback, Rebaz isn’t going down without a fight. He’s channeling his frustration into healthier habits. "What started as a weekend of disappointment turned into a triumph of self-control. I didn’t eat anything all weekend. I’m two kilos lighter, even if my wallet is a kilo heavier from the unresolved order."
Premier Pizza, meanwhile, is promising a ‘storm-tossed’ sea of discount codes to compensate Rebaz and his loyal following, hoping to steer their frustration towards forgiveness.
