Glenda K. Schaadt, of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, at Van Wert County Hospital. Born May 16th, 1954, she was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Dorothy Etzler, as well as her stepfathers, Sylvester Grote and Ervin Klausing.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Kent J. Schaadt, whom she married on May 20th, 1989. She found her greatest joy in her children, Robert (Josue) Sites of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Spencer (Zoey) Schaadt of Van Wert, Ohio.
She was one of four siblings, including brother Gary (Linda) Etzler of Hubbard Lake, Michigan, sisters Sue (Doc) Stokes of Middle Point, Ohio, and Debra (Dewight) Hitchcock of Van Wert, Ohio. Glenda was also a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenda had a welcoming personality, often greeting people with the phrase, “Hi, I’m Glenda-like the good witch!” She touched many lives through conversation, wit, and simple acts of kindness. Her professional life reflected her compassionate nature, and she cherished time spent with family, the comforts of home, and simple pleasures.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home Chapel, located at 722 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio.
