Posting an Instagram video on Monday captioned Bring her home alongside a yellow heart emoji, Guthrie addressed the person believed to have taken her mother in the early hours of February 1.
I’m coming on today with a very specific message, Guthrie said in the video, noting that her family has been living in a nightmare that will not end. It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part, and we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts.

Despite the passage of nearly 25 weeks since her abduction, investigators from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department maintain that the investigation remains active and ongoing. In her Monday appeal, Guthrie acknowledged the complexity of the situation while pressing the captor to come forward with information on where to find her mother. Pima County Sheriff Investigation and Active Rewards
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on Sunday, February 1, after failing to show up for church services. Investigators determined she was taken from her home by an intruder, noting that drops of blood were discovered on her porch. Alongside drops of blood discovered on Guthrie’s porch, investigators also recovered DNA from a glove found 2 miles from her home. The glove appeared to resemble one worn by a suspect seen in surveillance footage from the night of the incident captured a masked individual with a gun tampering with a doorbell camera near the property. Footage from a doorbell camera showed a masked man with a gun tampering with the camera near the time of her disappearance.
In the weeks following the abduction, the family and media organizations received multiple ransom communications, including initial demands for millions of dollars in bitcoin. Two ransom notes were addressed to the Guthrie family days after her disappearance, including a note that said she had died, according to authorities who believe they were likely sent by the person or group of people who abducted her. The first note demanded millions in bitcoin for Nancy Guthrie’s release. In the second note, sent a few days later, the apparent abductors revealed that she had died. Several news outlets, including Scripps News Group’s Tucson station KGUN, also received ransom notes, some demanding bitcoin. The FBI says some of the ransom notes received in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping investigation have been ruled out as extortion attempts, while others are still being investigated as potentially legitimate, according to a statement from FBI Phoenix.
The Guthrie family and the FBI are offering rewards totaling $1.1 million for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s return. The FBI added an additional $100,000 reward for conclusive information, describing a suspect as a man approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build.
